Ya, my car. I'm very sad. I will call insurance co. 1st thing in the morning. 6am Sunday morning - made a left turn - wet pavement & backend went out pushing me around 360 into a concrete light pole. It was at low speed so the frame (unibody) wasn't damaged. God knows what this will appraise out at. I need a excellent body shop to do it.
The good news is ( I hope) there were no injuries. When you think of it ,in the big scheme of life, a little bit of bent sheet metal is pretty minor. And yes I've been there also. My sympathies to ya. Darrell
$7K-$10K. Assuming no frame damage. Door Intake Right rear quarter lower rocker panel labor, paint, alignment door locks, etc, (whoa... just went to edit my post. COOL new vB software Rob ! )
More pics. I live in St. Louis & we have a Semi-Ferrari dealership here. I am really worried about the quality of the work that will be needed to fix body. Those curves in that back quarter panel are pure poetry. The top triangular section that connects to the roof & back window is buckled twice. I might have to ship the car out of state to be fixed. I stand corrected. 10-13K Contact Steve Gibson in Asheboro NC. (336) 292-3825. Really, an absolute master.
What a nasty way to start a Sunday. I hope all goes well in the repairs. At least it's the end of summer as compared to it happening at the beginning. Not much I know, but about all I CAN say to help.
not to be negative, but that'll cost waaay more than 12k or so. i had to replace the rear bumper on my 355 and it was 7k, and it's glass not metal. sorry dude.
looks sickening... But are you sure you were only going about 5-10 mph? I cant believe you could do this amount of damage at this LOOOOOW speed! gordon
That could have been me. I was in St. Louis this am, pulling out of Market, onto Broadway, then turning hard and fast left onto Clark and just about did a 360. It was slicker than a greased pig out there on the cement this am. Damn, sorry, but if there is a bright side, I had someone hit my '85 Carrera with 3K miles on it (in '85) and I quit babying the car after that, kept it for 13 years and drove the **** out of it. About 100K miles later, I was kind of glad it happenned, bc it changed my ***** attitude about driving the car like a rolling museum piece. Keep it and drive it like it should be driven! Its a beauty.
Another supposed magician with Ferrari bodywork is Bo Pirkle at Pirkle Body Shop in Tucker, GA, (770) 939-6982. I understand he is quite deliberate (i.e. slow) but the results are worth it.
