Cleaning out my garage I came across this front boot tire cover. I remember it didn’t work on my 78 308 GTS US car, and that it might be from an earlier car, maybe a B or a Vetro.

    any thoughts are appreciated

My mid '77 car has a similar zippered cover, but mounted to an alloy backing panel.

    Hi Geno,

Used on 76 & 77 cars as the spare tire cover, it gets glued down to an aluminum piece. Are you looking to sell it, if so let me know.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

The 1978 USA cars revised the washer bottle to a hard version instead of the earlier "saddle bag"..

At this point the tire holder was modified and the zipper cover deleted.
So 1975 thru 1977 is the correct answer, for North American cars

I just had my vinyl trim cover replaced as the zipper had failed.
This is a nicely preserved piece.

I thought these front compartment zipper covers were for the GTB euros... not 100% sure though!
