I decided to give my 328 a little fresh air today and ran a couple of errands in it. I haven't been driving it much at all the last few years, so when I do I'm reminded of what a special experience it is.

From the time I left my driveway, until I returned home, and everywhere between, people acknowledged the car in a positive way.

It started as I pulled out of my driveway and an older guy (seventies maybe) stopped, eyeballed the car with a smile, and then gave me a thumbs-up, then went on his way.

First stop at a farmers market a mom and her thirteen year old son approach and mom tells me how fascinated her son is with cars and Ferrari in particular. Nice to know kids that young appreciate our cars.

Second stop I'm approached by a guy promoting a local car-cruise. He's in a pristine '49 Lincoln convertible and was really into the older stuff, but had obvious appreciation for the 328. He was really interested in seeing it at their upcoming event.

Two more thumbs-up on the way home from there.

    Thought I'd share.

Happy & Safe 4th to all!

I also enjoy these experiences a lot and it seems that the older style F's are appreciated also by Ferrari analphabetics:)

Occasionally I am in Homestead since I work for ASKO Inc. on 501 West Seventh Avenue. In Amsterdam we have an ASKO facility. Maybe we can meet at my next visit.
    Ciao,

Good to hear turns out to be a nice day after all and that's the kind of experience you will get every time you drive your car, it is also better for your engine every time you drive your car the more the better.

    Well said.

Mine's been landlocked these last few weeks, stranded in the garage while I had a new driveway installed. Drove it like crazy this weekend.

What a car! Ditto to everything you said.

Just took mine out for a test run after changing oil in the engine, gearbox and coolant. It had been THREE weeks! The neat thing about a 308 is that everybody knows what it is, possibly the most iconic Ferrari there is yet unless you frequent car shows or such you can literally go for years, possibly decades and never encounter one on the street. So when people see one it usually brings a big smile to their face. It seems like everyone loves them, I've never encountered a 308 hater. Of course I've only had mine for eight months so maybe they're out there, just haven't run into one yet.

That's been my experience with my 328, which looks the same to most people. In my four years of ownership, it's always smiles, waves, thumbs-up, friendly comments.

It was at one time, but wander too far from the Waterfront complex and it's easy to see what the demise of the steel industry did to the area.

I live very near Greater Pitt International.

This is true, for the most part. I've had at least one very unpleasant incident with a crazy dude in a jacked-up truck, but ,for the most part, people love seeing these cars.

And I know you're right about getting the car more exorcise. It's something I've been trying to do, but the novelty of my Stingray hasn't completely worn off yet. :)
