    :p

Saw the temperature needle with 720p video resolution... I don't know Fahrenheit, but I'm pretty sure the normal temperature shouldn't be where the needle is :( :(

If they are willing to post a video on youtube of red-lining a cold and brand new engine;I'd hate to see what happens when they drive it off camera....

    Engine wasn't cold.

Check the gauges. Yes, it's below 210F but well above 140f oil temp.

No defence for redlining a cold engine but the car is a well used European spec that has been hammered on 3 continents.

1st video sounds like the operator is trying to seat the rings on the piston lands hard. This will make for less compression loss and higher comp pressures. Engine builders will do this on a dyno after engine assembly. It "breaks in" an engine. Unfortunately, it is detrimental to longevity. But, then again, all it has to do is finish 1 race...

What is that slight sound at the tail end of each rev, it almost sounds like a light backfire.

Actually the coolant temp was ok, and the oil temp was off its peg but not nearly up to the operating temp where you would feel free to go to 8K. The oil needs to heat up so as to reduce its viscosity, thereby enabling the kind of rapid flow needed to sustain high RPMs.

Remind me not to buy a vehicle from Ferrari San Francisco.
