On any Saturday, (if it's not raining), come out to Logans, on 280, around lunch time. There you should be able to see a group of exotics.

Drew, did you bring your Boxer to an Italian Festival in Birmingham years ago, well over a decade? It was one that Phil Hill was the Host?

    I brought a red 246GT and a pretty good looking girlfriend. :).

I think we had dinner in the old Barber motorcycle warehouse but that might have been another time. But yes Phil was there.

I was there with my wife and my then black 328GTS. We did visit the Barber warehouse. And, it was neat watching the F1 race in the hotel bar early Sunday morning with Phil Hill. I wish Birmingham would have another Italian Festival in the future.

There is a local club called MOBINC (Men of Birmingham In Nice Cars) and we meet every Saturday at Logan's Roadhouse on 280 at 11:30 AM. Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Ford GT40's Corvette's show up regularly. We talk in the parking lot for 30 min. or so, and then go in and eat as a group. BTW, we have a very wide verity of attendees, some that are 16 and some that are in their 70s. Some show up in every day cars and some in exotics. You do not need a special car the be part of the group, you only need to be a car lover to be accepted.

MOBINC has no membership actually, When I said accepted, I was talking about how the others would like talking to you. BTW, I like your humor.

If you guys in B'Ham and surrounding areas ever organize a Barber drive/track event, let me know. Would love to bring my 308 down from Memphis.

I cannot ever see this happening at Barber's. The rental fee, insurance, etc., etc. is simply too much for a group our size to ever afford. We as the FCA have participated there but only as a guest of another group and it has been about 8 years since the last time even that has happened. Of course you will see PCA and BMW as regulars out there but that is because they can fill 200 cars if the want or need to. If the FCA tried this with Ferrari powered cars only, we will have 5 sign on - maybe. BIG maybe, and I won't even be one of them because I am not going to pay $4000 for a Saturday out there with 4 other Ferraris. Besides, I have about 300 miles on that track already and I really do not even like it much.

Your best bet is a track day much like we used to have at TigPrix. Problem is even that is pretty steep these days. The only way we used to get in under $300 a car was to let anyone that wanted to drive out there with us, sign on too and I don't even think the FCA will let us do that anymore. We may have to do it as a bunch of mavericks these days but again, the costs will increase without FCA inc. behind us. (I may be wrong about this).

My point is the golden age of Ferrari track days in the southeast are gone. I am glad I was a part of it for the last 18 years or so of its life. Fun times.
