Might be a good little car for the money. We know the performance has a lot to be desired. The low mileage indicates a certain level of neglect and there are some indications it has been left sitting. Interior needs a refresh. One question I have is about the intake plenum. I thought the 2 Valve motors had black plenums. I could be wrong. It's emissions exempt in Texas so all that junk can go.... Drive over there and take a look... Colleyville isn't too far away.
While you're over there you might take a gander at the TR. It's had over $30K worth of service within the last couple of years.... It looks good too.
I called a while back on this car (September), and he couldn't tell me anything, no books, no records, no tools, nothing. Not even original key and imcomplete set. Needless to say I didn't bother with it.
I would certainly wonder about no books or tools, but what kind of records would you hope to find for a car with 10k miles on it? I would be worried if there were service records on a 10k mile car.
Well, maybe it's true but there's been A LOT of sitting going on (crushed driver's seat bottom cushion and worn dead pedal). It's nicely detailed, that's for sure but the Buy It Now price is equivalent to comparable 3.2 Coupes. 1987 Ferrari Mondial coupe, low miles, well maintained - Price: US $19,975.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190345958877&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123
I think this was the fifth or sixth time I've seen it listed since July. That's a pretty optimistic buy it now price for a Mondial 8, IMO. It should have sold for the final bid of $17.9k if they were being reasonable.
no one said anything about the idiot light being on for slow down for bank 5-8 (ecu issue?) and the paint showed oxidation - I didn't like the wheels and bigger tires - looked blingy... Carol
Car is 29 years old. I would expect the same amount of service as if the car had 60K, plain and simple. For instance, if this car never had it's belt replaced, it would be a time bomb ticking, so you should be worried.
10K miles . Yeah right, 348 wheels, both front seats look like crap and the console is all scuffed up. I know Ferrari interiors don't hold up well but this is pretty bad. Oh, also all the lettering is off the air filter cover Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I, too, call B.S. on the miles. And even if the miles were real, low mileage is only worth something if the condition reflects it! I don't think the Mondial 8 coupe looks good in red; too much black trim all over the place, starts to look like a child's toy. 8 coupe looks best in azzuro or silver, IMO. Goofy 348 wheels, "my first Ferrari" color combo, cosmetic issues, unknown mileage, no service history, needing a minimum of t-belt change . . . I'd say a fair price for that car is $14k.
Looked at the pics a little closer. There's a ton of orange peel in the paint of the rear end in the closeup pics of the emblems. Way too much for Ferrari paint. My guess is that it's been repainted. Hmmmmmm
