For myself, I began following Scuderia when I was about 14. How old were you?
I was 6 when my dad taught me what F1 was, I was 10 when I attended my first race. That was 35 years ago...
I attended my first F1 race at the age of 12. This was my first direct exposure to F1 that I can recall. I have almost always, since the age of 4 been aware of Ferrari.
The first car magazine I picked up had the story of Jackie Stewart winning his third championship in 1973. I was 11 years old. I attended my first race in 1978 at Brands Hatch, of course won by a Ferrari (Carlos Ruetemann).
1978 First Race in Long Beach age 13, reading about since age 9 in Road & Track by the great Rob Walker.
Racing in general for as long as I can remember. F1 in particular, mmm, age 8/9 from reading about races in R/T. Unquestionably an inherited gene.
About 15 years ago, I was in high school and was a huge Benneton fan...I know, I've since switched over!
I was born with F1 in my blood. Monaco being my place of birth in 77 and growing up there till age 15, I was too young to even remember my first race, but I know I never missed a single grand prix.
As long as I can remember. I attended my first F1 race at the age of 11 Mexico city GP 1986. Gerhard Berger won his 1st GP with a non stop strategy in a Benetton/Pirelli. Ferrari drivers: Michele Alboreto DNF Stefan Johansson 12
I must have been age six or so - 41 years ago! Growing up in England I can remember collecting plastic F1 cars that came in cereal boxes. For some reason I can distinctly remember having a green plastic BRM all those years ago, and yet I have trouble remembering where I put my keys 10 minutes ago!
About age six. We didn't have much coverage back then (mid seventies) but when it was on TV we watched. From about age 10 I also started to read car magazines about it. From age 14 I was a Ferrari fan and I saw my first race at age 19 (Spa 1989). Have seen only one more race since (Monaco 2005) but that's deliberately. On TV it's much better to watch IMO. We also watched other motorized sports and my ten year older brother did some (non-pro) rallying so I went to those too.
1st race at Spa? what a blessing! from what i recall, i haven't missed a single GP live on tv since 2000.
I started watching/following F1 in the mid 80's, didn't make my 1st race till Monza98, but at least it a Ferrari 1-2 that day
Was about 6 when I noticed F1's existance because everybody was watching it on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I was wondering what's going on. Became a real fan at age 12 or so. Attended my first GP with 17. Became a serious F1 worshipper in the late nineties (the decade, not my age ). Ever since I'm going to a GP each year. The thing that truly bothers me is that I let it slip during my college years. Yes I was busy studying, but that's no excuse not to attend GPs. I wish I had been more serious about it back then and taken boat loads more of pictures. Nothing can bring back that time and opportunity lost.
i would always dabble and check the results from when i was 18-19 years old, but I didn't get really into it until when I was about 20-21.
