I'm seriously considering selling my 355.
And I'd like to get some figures as to what 355s are currently selling for, not the listing price but actual selling price. Mine isn't perfect but is a lot better than many I have seen so I would rate it maybe an 8 out of 10. It will need some paint work in the future if the new owner wants a perfect exterior and the dash has a little shrinkage around the middle vents.

When I list my car I want it to sell quick so I plan to price it accordingly without giving it away. I'm thinking this will be in the $40-45k range. Mine is a Yellow 99 F1GTS with 34k miles.

I'm looking for numbers on cars that have actually sold within the last 6 months or close to it. Was a major needed or any other work reflected in the price?

Also is it best to have a compression test done prior to listing or wait and let the buyer request and pay for it?

    I'd say 55-65k. 40-45k is too low

I think however you're in a tight spot, as you've already mentioned your price in mind in several threads.

40-45k sounds right. The f1 (and costs associated with it) may scare off a lot of buyers.

As someone with a deal pending (I'm the buyer) if it needs a major soon I'd say your about right at $40 -$45 k.

I bought mine at the end of March this year for $52K. Major was done 9 months prior. 23,xxx miles, '98 red/tan 6 speed spider. Car was fairly clean. a small bit of "road rash" but overall good paint. Seats had new leather. I'd say a 9 out of 10. Had some issues with the top that I am still working to resolve but other than that, seems to have been in great shape. Car had been on the market for 5+ months asking close to $60K. Seller expected a higher price than mine but just couldn't get it.

Would 69k be unreasonable for a minty 96 red/tan berlinetta 6 speed with 20k, fresh interior, fresh service and every service record since new?

    If anybody is interested, there's a red/tan 95 with 8K miles for 56K asking.

I think eBay completed/sold are a good indication of where the market is at. The Fchat owners (in every subforum here) think their model is the most valuable :)

I'm in the market for a late model 355 F1 GTS or GTB. I've been doing my homework over the past several weeks and would say that cars are going anywhere from $40k to upper $60k's, and it's really dependent on a number of factors, including mileage, the service history, recent major service or not, whether it's been sorted (replaced headers, cats, exhaust, sticky parts), etc - and then I'm sure the individual buyer, and just how much they want a particular configuration, their urgency, and other personal factors play into the final price.

I wouldn't expect many cars will command (and get) something in the 60's except for a more rare gem with exceptionally low mileage (although some feel that's not a great selling point for these cars), rare configuration, and showroom quality... or perhaps just a very motivated buyer who falls in love with something unique about the car.

I think the seller MO seems to be to list high if they have time to kill, hope to get a motivated buyer who loves their particular car, or just expect to come down over time. If they need to move the car quickly, they're getting more aggressive with the 40's and very low 50's asking prices.

I've had 2 offers for my 95 GTS in the last 4 weeks. One with a number that started with a 7, and one that started with an 8.

Both unsolicited, both from real buyers.

The car is still in my garage.

355dreamer - I don't know anything about your car, so perhaps it has some incredible specs or super-expensive aftermarket work... but if those were credible offers, I'd take them. :)

There's currently a very clean '99 F1 GTS (yellow) on eBay with only 9800 miles, 1st owner, custom stitched leather, fabspeed headers, high flow cats, tubi exhaust, etc. I don't know a lot about the car, but it looks like a great example of a very nice car... asking $75k, bid with 16 hours left is at ~$50k. It should (and will, I'm sure) sell for more, but this is one of the nicest examples of a GTS I've seen for sale recently... most are much higher mileage, many with original headers and cats, etc.

Most of the cars are listed at $50k - $60k... and you have to assume they're not getting full asking price, so anything in the $70's or $80's is pretty incredible.

I think I would still take 355 Dreamer's car, rare color that is beautiful, 6 speed, better headers and a 1995, as well as we know how well he has maintained his car; all superior in my book. I am not in the market as I just got my 1995 Berlinetta back from Scuderia Rampante from its second major service since i purchased the car in 2006 and some special Helms tuning.

Erick, prices are all over the place based on many factors and all of the debatable topics. Prices is always based on value in the eyes of the buyer. I know you have made a fair amount of mods to your car and IMO, you will gain 5k more if you bring it back to an original state.

Based on the limited info I know about your car, I'd say it's worth $50-55, 10 more than you think. I feel your miles are too high along with other factors to get near 60.

Besides being a very rare color what about your car would make the value that high? Low mileage, sorted, exceptional cosmetics, ect?

Honestly, it's likely all of the above. It's the only 95 GTS made in white, and some really value the 95s over all other years. (I don't want to get into that here). There's only one other white GTS in the US, and no one has seen that car in years. (There were three, but the white on red car was totaled and parted out)

Seems like there are always a bunch of yellow 355s on the market which leads to saturation, although I love that color.

I've spent a ton servicing it with the best possible upgrades available, and all known 355 issues have been addressed with true fixes.

Truth is, I've got more than 80k into it. There's no other Ferrari for that kind of money that would satisfy me, thus, why I won't sell it.

Personally, I think good, low mileage 95s GTBs and GTSs which are serviced with top quality parts are worth it and I think the market agrees. The prices I've been offered for mine aren't anywhere out of line from the transactions I've seen privately on early, clean fixed roof examples. The cars on eBay aren't a barometer of the 355 market.

In the meantime, I'm gonna enjoy the car. I've added a few more toys in recent months, and the 355 is being used without too much wear. (I am really thinking of picking this up too. 2013REPLICA 550 spyder 1955 ?OUTLAW? FOR SALE)

I hope the OP gets top dollar. In fact, we all should. At the end of the day, us owners controll the market, not the buyers. Why drive down the values of our own cars? Look at was StockPro has done to CS values...

Interestingly, 355C's are priced right with 355's yet appeal to a slightly different market. There are always outliers but there is a very nice 355C with lots of new stuff and nice interior bits asking $46 at a dealer which means it will go for less. So that 45-50K number is about right for the average 355 in the fleet. What amazes me is that the 355 used to be twice the cost of the 348 and now they are not so far off. 355's swing from 40-80 yet 348's group pretty tight around 35-40. What has happened to drop the values of the 355?

Aside from .1 % at best, pristine cars are selling at the top end of sixties. People like to attempt to increase the market but that's not the data that drives the market. Once in a while (last 6 months) does a car sell for over 70 and if I'm wrong I'd love to see the list coz it does not exisit.

Market is 95% not less than 1%

Luke, buyers drive the market not owners. And I'm fine with losing a few g's to put a smile on someone's face. My car is a toy for me to enjoy and if I ever sell, I hope the new owner enjoys it as I have. I'm not going to post after post, attempt to raise the market coz that is just false. 355's are no longer 80k cars, but they are still awesome!

I know of a pristine 1998 355GTS that sold for $67,500 last week in Marina Del Rey.

The market comes down to what you can get for your car. I have seen 355s going for $40K - $55K.

I don't have the black wheels or racing stripes any more so that should help. All the other mods are well within line for the car, carbon fiber sills and door mirror covers, tinted windows, challenge grill (just installed), HID headlights, custom stereo with sub (easy to return to stock.) Oh then of course the H&R springs and spacers, do you think I should return springs to stock?
