I wanted to see what would be the best bang for my buck in purchasing cats for my 97 F355 with a tubi exhaust? Looks like my Ferrari tarot cards are guiding me in that direction based on my previous guidance with my failed emissions testing and established codes.

Did a quick internet search and came across two sites www.partsbin.com and www.racepages.com that sell them for $354.00 each. Are they worth the money? It states that they have a limited 2 year or 25K warranty. Being entry level any and all help is appreciated.

Everything on my car is gone---Steering wheel, HyperFows, Capristo, By-pass pipe, towhook.... The only thing left is the Fabspeed headers and CH wheels.... Went back to stock to sell it... If I could find somebody with a really nice set of stock wheels and tires to swap for the CH wheels, tires and some cash --- those woud be gone also....

Not sure about the low cost I found on the web site search at only $354 per side on www.partsbin.com and at www.racepages.com Not knowledgeable enough at this point with Ferrari wisdom if it is too good to be true based on what it would cost if I go with Ferrari parts or more expensive after market. Is anyone familiar with these? It seems like a great savings if it indeed is not going to affect my car's performance or do damage to my engine. Please feel free to give me your Ferrari 2 cents. Thanks.

Hyperflow cats from Ricambi. Do you have close to 30k mileage? You may want to start pricing headers as well if you do, or at the least get a good visual inspection of your existing ones while doing the cats. My cats went and were replaced at 32k then two months later my headers went as well. Now I have Hyperflow cats, Fabspeed headers and Larini exhaust and really enjoy the car.

Do NOT go cheap on your cats. There really is only one aftermarket cat with long-term reliability and quality- Hyperflows. Cheap cats can cause a myriad of potential problems and can reduce performance due to backpressure.

I cannot agree with you more!!! Get the Hyperflows. I'm running them, Tubi, and Fabspeed headers. Car runs great, sounds wonderful.

I have only $12,500 miles on the car. Hopefully no header problems at this point. Not sure if O2 sensors should also be replaced? Does failed cats mean another problem that caused it to occur with only 12K miles on car? I have already put on 500 miles on car in 4 weeks of ownership time. Prior owner put only 900 miles in the previous 3 years. Wondering if lack of exercise was the cause?

Well Capristo has cats too, more expensive than OEM but IMO superb quality just like their exhausts!

My first cat went at 17,000 miles and my first header went at 21,000 miles..:( Mine was kind of the same, when I bought the car it had 16,400 miles on it and it had only gone 500 miles in almost 4 years.

You can have your oem cats recored for $600 each. Smith Cat will install high quality metal catalysts in place of the ceramic ones. I did this recently for one of my cats, works fine, and no CE light. Driven at least 10 times in the last few months.

Just remind them to use SS welding rod, and NOT to paint them silver like they did on mine. ;)

Risky. At those prices you can guarantee they are not made from ss, and will have ceramic cores...and may not work correctly and you will still have CE lights.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware they were making cats. I suppose it was just a matter of time, though. :)

It absolutely *could* be a problem independent of the cats. You need to analyze the car's exhaust gases.
