So today I cracked the screen on my pocket pc and suffice to say I was pretty angry, because I use mine everyday for just about everything. So I thought, don't worry life goes on, that's why there's warranties. Apparently I did something to piss whoever is in charge off, because when I called HP to find out how to send in my pocket pc I learned something very interesting. My warranty expired yesterday! YESTERDAY! Why??????? Just venting...so if anyone has any recommendations on a good PPC to replace mine with (it was an iPaq RZ1715) I'm open to suggestions, but here are my requirements:

    -Windows Mobile 2003 SE
-Wifi is not necessary, becuase I do have a Wifi card
    -Thin and light
-Preferably not HP because I hate them now
    -I don't mind buying refurbished

I was looking at the Dell Axim X50 416MHz, though it looks a bit big for my taste though much more powerful than my current setup. Thanks!

That's right, it expired yesterday. And you were within the warranty period when the screen cracked. You have been trying to call and you finally got through...

    What's the problem? :D

Incidentally, I have 2 PPCs that I don't use. Both in brand new condition, with original boxes/books, etc, although I might have thrown out some manuals just last week.

One is a Cassiopeia--top of the line (E-710, I think). I also have the WiFi card for it, and it has like 80mb storage on the card.

The other is a HP Jornada with a keyboard. It flips open, and was top of the line when I got it. Spare docking station and stylus also.

I tried using them for a couple of days, then just went to a phone that did everything. If you are interested in either, I can open the boxes and get more details--let me know and we can haggle via PM :).

Personally, I recommend one of the do-it-all phones.

This might save you. If you have the original receipt you might check and see how you paid. Many credit card companies double the length of warranties if you purchase an item with their card. If you paid with a credit card call their customer service department and ask. I purchase high end items with a credit card intentionally (instead of paying cash) because of the warranty. It is worth checking into! Good luck.
