THE WIFE WANTS TO DRIVE HER OWN FERRARI BUT DOESNT WANT A MANUAL CLUTCH. SHE LIKES THE MONDIAL T AND THE 355. I HAVE BEEN TOLD HOW MUCH BETTER THE F1 IS IN THE LATEST CARS BUT WOULD LIKE TO HAVE INPUT ABOUT THE MONDIAL AND THE 355 TRANSMISSIONS. HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO TEST DRIVE EITHER OF THESE MODELS. WHAT OTHER MODELS CAN THE VALEO CLUTCH BE INSTALLED IN. IF YOU HAVE ONE OR HAD ONE YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT. I HAVE HEARD A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE REMOVED THE VALEO CLUTCH, ANY INTEREST IN SELLING THE ASSEMBLY AND FOR HOW MUCH?
    THANKS

The Mondial only Valeo clutch is a rare setup. Probably horribly expensive & time consuming to repair.
A 3.4 Valeo was being parted out on:

Totally different then the F1 type tranny in the 355 and later cars.

Maybe a 400/412 or 456 with an automatic would be a possible choice.
In particular, the 456 is a heck of a buy for the $.

I have the same concern. I am looking for a late model mondial t (soft top), and ran into two candidate (a '92 and a '93) that looked right. Both had a veleo transmission. Is there anyone out there who has actual knowledge of this setup. Your opinion would go a long way in my decision.
