I have seen a lot of the newer Ferraris with these seats. I really love them!!! Is there a specific name for them? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sports Seats or Racing Seats? At least thats what the general design is normally referred to as. If you're referring to the two specific models of sports seat in your pictures... no idea.
So there is the standard seats, Daytona seats and sport seats in new Ferraris? I love the look of the sport seats!!!!!
Those seats are also very comfortable, went in a 3 hour trip in a 360 fitted with similar seats and I actually found them far more supportive than the Daytonas.....
Speaking of seats, I'm a bit confused. When I sat in the 360 sport seats, I found them to be immediately uncomfortable. But the CS seats were three times more comfortable than my standard 360 seats. Is there a difference, or was it all in my mind?
If you're interested, contact Daniel at Harmony Autosport. He makes them to order. Here's the link to his thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127258
Essentually the design is the same in the CS with the exception that the seats in the CS are CF and much less weight I believe.
Some of the 360 sport seats are made by Sparco and others by Toora. I beleave the new 599 seats are made by Recaro. We use Sparco cores on our racing seats. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Double Ouch!!! They are nice seats, but you have to be on drugs to buy them or even consider thinking that they are really worth $6K.
Gary, I've been looking @ 360s w/ sports seats. My understanding is that 360 sport seats were all the same size, and that for the F430 you could order S, M, L. Is this correct? Also, the 360 I drove with sport seats - they definitely had a CF shell. Any comments?
The 360 had the same three sizes (for sure), and yes I thought all the sport seats had the CF shell, but I can't swear to that one. BTW, I agree they look great, but not everyone loves them after they buy them. I have two friends who popped for them on their 360s and hated them, in one case they sold the car solely because of them. If it matters to you, dealers consider them a big negative on the resale market. Gary
"TWO RACING SEATS WHOLLY IN LEATHER"...........$7,010 + TAX......CAD FUNDS Directly from the 2006 F430 price list.
This is a nice example of Ferrari echonomics, $ 7,0000.oo !!!!. I have a nice set of RECARO's I am going to have covered in nice black leather. $ 650.00 total cost, for two.
Actually.......$7K CAD is about $6K USD......or $3K USD a seat........go and price out other seats, and then add the mounting kits and brackets which you will probably have to buy seperately (Recaro sells the seats seperately......you have to buy the brackets as an additional item).....and then add the labor.....and $3K per seat is about par for the market.
OK, , add RECARO sliders, $ 230.00 from japan... $ 850.oo USA out the door price, ,,, for two RECARO seats.
Compare apples to apples......you are probably talking about "used" Recaro SPG seats. Tell us what it costs once you add labor, materials, recovering, and installation.......they are the base model from Recaro.........price out their top end seats on the same basis and go from there.....that is what I am saying. I can buy used seats here as well and do what you are doing.......it's not the same thing. Porsche GT3 seats for example, once you add in the brackets/sliders and labor are around $6K CAD for the pair on an installed basis.......so IMHO the OEM Ferrari seats are not a bad deal. I just went thru this exercise for a client on his 996TT..........
