I noticed two unused/disconnected jacks under the drivers side dashboard area, and was wondering if anyone knows what they are for?
I attached photos of them. One was by the left side, under the dash, just above where the carpet ends, I'm guessing some kind of diagnostic port. The other was right above the gas peddle, I'm guessing that it is possibly the connector that goes onto the clutch peddle (used to enable the car to start only when clutch peddle is depressed) if I had a manual 6 speed transmission. Does anyone know if I'm correct? If not, what are they?
Neither one had a place to plug in to.

Sorry for the sideways picture, I didn't realize it would look that way when I took them. To see them properly, tilt your head to the left, parallel to the ground. LOL

Anyone? I tried looking in the online shop manual, but I can't seem to find the jack, or matching wire colors.
Can someone do me a favor and take a quick look under the dash to see if you have the same jacks? I'm curious if it's just an unplugged wire, a test port, or just options that my car doesn't have. I think the photo's are pretty clear where the jacks are. The one by the gas peddle is very obvious and easy to see. It is right on the wall above the peddle. The other one was lose, just above the bottom of the dash, all the way to the left side. If you just reach your hand up from the bottom, into the corner, you will hear it rattle around...that's how I found it. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can check it for me.
    Thanks!!

    Chris,

Post this in the 360 section. You should get more traffic and, more than likely, an answer from fellow 360 owners.

How many switches do you have on the left part of the dashboard? 3, I guess.

The first one is most probably the connector for the "rear fog light" switch that you should not have. The color of the wires should be : black (x2 or x3), orange, yellow-red.

I have not yet identified the second one.

Yes, the one connector has the "few" black wires, an orange and a yellow/red! I'm pretty sure they also show up in the photo. I also thought of the possibility that the jack was for the fog light, but didn't think it was it. It just seemed like too large of a jack to fit behind all those switches since they are close together. I also thought it was too many wires for a simple function like an on/off switch for a light. And lastly, if the wiring was all set up, why didn't Ferrari just add one more switch for the fog light on the US cars? Also why would owners add a dummy switch to fill in the blank, instead of a real switch? Those were the reasons I discounted the thought of being the fog light switch. Thanks for letting me know! The other jack is more than likely what I guessed about the clutch activation switch, but I would like confirmation.
