I took off the trunk cover and found these wires. I do NOT have the antenna hooked up, is that what these are for? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes -- most likely for the aerial lift motor which are typically BR (white/red) in color. What year/model/version F?
+1 BTW, If those are plastic fuse holders (I can't quite tell from the photos) on the wire ends, rather than simple connector housings, they have been added aftermarket --- those were not OE.
Yep. They control the antenna motor. The white connectors surround the spades to protect the connection from shorting to the body. Got 'em on my '83.
Those are about as OE as you can get. They are connector covers and Ferrari and ALFA used them for many years.
OP --- Also, if you have your owner's manual for the car, there is a very good wiring diagram in the back of it ----- for future reference
Okay, they're for the antenna, that's what I thought, or that's what I hoped, as I never even tried the stereo, 70's Alpine that I'd like to remove if I had a blank off plate for the dash. I DO have the owner's manual, didn't think I'd see those in there, so I never even looked. THANKS!
Be forwarned: it's a semi-automatic antenna. Lots of posts on this site for either tracking down an original or a replacement or the wiring changes for using today's automatic ones.
Me too, I use to go wrecking yard hopping and collects all kinds of odd pieces like connectors cover, fuses, vacuum hoses, relays, and many more.
