Having purchased a variety of different cars in the past, I've seen delivery miles as high as around 50-60 and as low as 5. What is the expected range for a new Ferrari?

Most new Ferraris are driven on a 60 -80 km test drive, with additional time at the track at the end of the shakedown run. If you are ever in Maranello you will see a steady stream of new cars with "Prova" plates (Temp test license plates) exiting the back gate and roaring off into the surrounding countryside at illegal speeds. This happens every work day no matter the weather. So for all of those owners who take delivery of their cars and baby them for the first thousand miles, your car has been thoroughly thrashed by a test driver and put away wet long before you got all neurotic over running it in.

The test drives for Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. actually have their own speedlimits under Italian law so they're not strictly speaking illegal speeds :)

That's what I suspected. My theory is that the more exotic the car, the more test miles the factory puts on before delivery.

And this falls on neurotic deaf ears every single day ... logic and wisdom seem to disappear when someone writes a check for 300 large ;)

I took this picture just before I pulled out of the dealership for my ride home. I'd already taken the car on a 10-15 mile ride before taking final delivery, so the car came with about 40-45 miles on the clock.

49 Kms. After the govermental inspection and exam 95!!!!!

These bastards took my precious for a ride.

When I received the car, I insisted to pick up from the inspection point, a local guy who lives there approached to me and asked if he could take a closer look because yesterday night this car was accelerating up and down in this street and the noise was unbearable....

I almost got heartattack...but of course they denied it...

    :(
