    Was hot as h*ll this weekend so I made myself a pina colada with some Myers dark rum.

    Was a nice way to stay cool as I watched my kids beat the crap out of each other in the pool.

    It's so dang hot, we've limited our drinking to pinot grigio kept as frosty as possible in the fridge.
    Vinho verde is another good hot weather wine...T

    Yes, except I don’t add the other herbs when using heirlooms. Depending on the final taste I sometimes add some water to tone it down, it can be too intense.

    This may be a weird place to put this - but we bought a Bartesian - that is like a K cup for cocktails. I like Margharitas and my wife likes cosmos'... but we usually dont do mixed drinks at home - its a PITA to make. but the bartesian is kind of cool and easy... so been doing margaritas...

    Dang, add in a lifted pickup truck with a pool in the bed, and you could make your own Kid Rock video!

    I was watching a Indian street food video. In it they made a drink called kulukki sarbath; sounded interesting.

    I replaced basil seeds with mint, and lemons with lime. Blitzed with a stick blender and then strained out the solids. Think of it as a virgin mojito with a chili pepper for heat.

    Since I didn't have Indian jwala peppers handy, I started with a jalapeño. Spicy, but I think a serrano would be better.

    The change of seasons is really nice. A small front just went thru and temps are dropping to the mid 40s tonight. Chiminea season!
