There are many great lyricists, I think Kanye goes from funny to cerebral quickly, these songs hit my playlist rotation thismorning and it makes me think a little. Also old punk, like Clash, etc, the neo-political stuff Strummer put out was very powerful for the time. These are just offhand, if I thought about it, there would be many to mention.
