none taken. Love that "band" and figure more people should have a chance to hear them. yes, their chosen name is somewhat strange but I guess it's cool to have more than one meaning.
The Hotelier This album, from start to finish, is just crazy, ups and downs of amazingness... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOSIM8TMErY
Currently:- Drama - Yes. Has to be one of their worst albums. I have been a fan of Yes since the 70's. I saw the vocalist Jon Anderson many years ago, Steve Howe (guitar) a couple of years ago but for one reason or another never the whole of Yes. They have changed and swapped around a bit but after Chris Squire (founding member) passed away last year I decided to get tickets. So off I will go and drag my none prog rock girlfriend (she does love PF though) to see Yes in their current guise. No Jon Anderson, but a replica vocalist from all accounts. His name is John, I think They have said they are to do the whole of Fragile (I love that) and Drama as part of the set. I bought Drama when it came out in 1979/80 IIRC and threw it in the bin. Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes of The Buggles (dreadful electronic pop duo back in 1978/9) replaced Rick Wakeman and Jon Anderson. I hated it. So I bought it on CD and am forcing myself to listen to it in the car. I'm older, more mature, less memory of The Buggles (Trevor Horn is actually a good producer I'm informed) and it's not so bad. Still not sure though. Thing is John (whatever his name is) sounds exactly like Jon Anderson so hopefully he will do the vocals a bit of justice on the Drama tracks.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3LEhfbKCSc[/ame] I'm constantly amazed by just how good Butterfield (& his bands) were. The man was a total powerhouse. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8h9qTquC0I[/ame] Imagine waking up to this at Woodstock...
The female singer is good. The dude - I didn't like as much. I still prefer this version of Me, Myself and I. 😉 http://youtu.be/FJEzEDMqXQQ T
Ok, not wanting to succumb to rampant old fart-ism, I looked up a few more songs by this dude. This song is a bit better by G Eazy. IMO. Rapping over the classic Runaround Due by Dion and the Belmonts. http://youtu.be/-g7UR-C3E4g And, the original for you whippersnappers! http://youtu.be/y4NUZJMCJ20 T
I'm listening to a combo of three different Oleander albums at the beach while typing away on Fchat. Specificly , Why I'm Here , right now.
This is a bit different one as I'm not really listening to it, but it's a song that periodically pops in my head multiple times throughout a month for years and years. I was at the Houston Rodeo yesterday and to celebrate his 10th appearance at the rodeo, Brad Paisely brought out Larry Gatlin to sing 'Houston'. It was awesome. BTW, this is not my video. Grunge vibe. Not bad, but their cover of The Cure classic "Boys Don't Cry" is certainly not up to the original. http://youtu.be/Q460cEwJgCI Oleander's lead singer does have nicer hair than Robert Smith though! T
Heart of Glass - Blondie Groove is in the Heart - Dee-lite Hungry Heart - Bruce Springsteen Piece of my Heart - Janis Joplin 😀 BTW, I believe that Per Gessle of Roxette is quite the Ferrari enthusiast. T
"Want you to know that should I go. I always loved you, held you high above, true. I study your face, and the fear goes away. It's a fragile thing, this life we lead."
I'm on the Stone Temple Pilots with Pandora at the moment. I started with Procol Harum , Conquistador.
Not bad. Like it. Never heard of these folks. They have a different sound. I've been listening to Eminem. I love this live version of Stan with the very lovely & talented Dido. Warning - lots of cussing. http://youtu.be/zUFLqYETZm4 T
NIN- The Fragile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCXz3T_vPYs APC- Mer de Noms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9TGsHVcROM Millencolin- Pennybridge Pioneers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVGOVHHQeLQ Lagwagon- Let's Talk About Feelings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SANKGpfD5S8 Brings me back to HS all over again, man, I didn't give a ****, and life was awesome. I'd barrel around Southern NH in my 1991 Saab 900S (non Turbo , driving to my prep school 40 mins each way every morning, with my tape deck, then uprated CD player, blaring out of the 4 $40 speakers I worked 2 months to afford lol (Circuit City!!!!!)
