Just like the title says..... We just picked up a allroad for the Mrs. First Audi. Pretty impressed with the quality so far. Noticed the A8L. Styling is kind of plain but the interior is pretty nice. Im thinking real hard. Any thoughts?

Unless you need the extra length, go for an A8S. With the Carbon interior package and Alcantara headliner. Luvly.......

The new Allroad is absolutely fantastic. Congrats!

I'm not really a fan of the A8, but the new S8 is godly levels of wonderful.

I had a new A8L as a loaner car for a few days while my S5 was in for service.

The A8 is a very nice car.
    Loved the massaging seats.
    Lots of luxury in it.
The back seat area is huge.

If you want an impressive 4-door sedan that kind of "flies under the radar" compared to the big MB or BMW cars, the A8L is great.

I think it's too long. I like the 7 series more, myself.

I like the long cars. I just test drove a 2013 7. Great but been there done that. Headed to see the Porsche panamera. It's raining so maybe it will look better in the rain.

As soon as I drove up, I kept my head down and asked the first pair of shoes I saw to pull a Panamera around for a test drive. Which he did and I just jumped in. All I know is that color of the exterior was white and the interior was black. Took it for a spin. Not bad but definitely more on the sport coupe side than a luxury family transport. But I did like it. I will go back to see the Audi tomorrow and will probably come home with a car. Still leaning towards the Audi.... followed by the 7 and then the Panamera. Probably spend another couple of hours on youtube tonight. Oh and by the way, the 7 is way bigger than the A8L. Well the legroom in the back anyway.

Agree with the comments about the S8, but i don't think you can go wrong with the S8. As far as it being 'plain', some of them do seem a bit beige, but if you get it in the right color with the right options, it'll get attention like none other. There's a very nice white one near me with some nice factory wheels, dark tint, and the panoramic roof and it looks great. Also, i think it has the best interior in its class other than that silly little gear shifter.

The A8l is a wonderful car. Audi has surpassed the other euro brands by far in the last few year. While BMW has lost its sporting image Audi has embraced the sporting image. Mercedes once known for vault like quality and understated styling has gone to cheap plastics and strange bubble shaped cars. As someone who works on all these brands I say the Audis are the nicest. I also like them becasue they do fly under the radar unlike some of the other brands.

Very good point on "invisibility".... My SO has a seriously lead foot; yet only 2 state patrol stops in 4 years of always pushing speed limits, in a medium gray S4 Avant.

Her gray R8 is too visible tho; she's now on a first-name recognition-basis with one officer in our area......
