Good car, well built, good reliability.

Market didn't like a pricey VW, It has been discontinued, that's why a good deal can be found.

If it could tow like my Touareg, I would have had one.

Just a side note, VW customer service is sub par. Dealer service has been pretty good, but Factory support is way below Lexus, Mercedes and BMW.

The car is very nice. Engines , materials , quality. When you see it on a street it really looks pretty, this car is very sophisticated machine. And design seems to be so pure/aesthetic it is just different car in this segment. You are buying really good and luxurious car. The only think that it ain't got is.....prestige ! Ok , you can feel like in a Merc S-class , it is size of S-class , quality is like S-class , in Europe price was similar to S-class but........you are still driving VW !!!

Why do you think so ?

For 90k it looks too much like a big Jetta. I'm sure it's well built, but having to deal with a VW dealer for service ,certainly wouldn't be up to Merc or Lexus standards.

My dealer (I'm a Touareg owner) says factory is being de-commisioned (i.e. shut down and closed). VW will however support the models out there (as long as the law says they must).

perhaps the most under-rated car on the road today.
    fantastic quality,build and good dynamics,too.
a car of substance for the thinking aristocrat.

the cars most major problem in my opinion was not its price (although it was a problem), but the fact the A8 could be had for a few thousand more and that had a proper badge on it. I really like it though and would almost pick one over an A8.

Get an A8 Audi. More sophistication and not much higher. Performance is quite good and there actually is a dealer network that knows what high-line customers want. NOt all dealers are good but most are.......

I believe they are not decommissioning the factory, but perhaps more like making room for the Continental GT and Flying Spur.
