About 6-8 months ago, I made this post and was extremely well accepted. With so many new members on board that probably did not see that thread, I thought it would be fun to do another round of it. I just found a member to help me translate some Japanese yesterday. There is a great pool of talent here that we should share with others if time permits. I'll start:

I'm decent at fielding questions and giving direction for small start-up companies that are developing simple retail products. Expertise includes packaging, sourcing materials, assembly and marketing.

My designs, manufactures and markets crystals to the global RC hobby industry with products about half the retail price (of the current market prices).

Well, I'm a philosophy major and I am going to get my PhD. So, if you have any questions on any philosopher or need a paper written, I'm your man :) I am the best at ancient and modern philosophy (esp pre-socratics, Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Hume, and Kant), but I can also answer questions regarding continental, analytic, philosophy of science, and most other areas. Yes, I know, I am a professional nerd and am pretty much useless to everyone.

Oh yeah, I also know the following programming/pseudo-programming languages: HTML, ASP, VB, SQL and C++. I also speak german.

I can also hook people up with tickets to a popular Long Island water park if anyone is interested.

IT Consultant (with a Computer Science degree and a certificate in Mechanical Engineering), currently working on a Siebel project.

Background was in engineering, and I used to design baggage handling equipment, yep even for some US airports. I've also worked in metal roof tile manufacture designing the machines that make them, and also in general materials handling area (ie. conveyors, etc.).

My parents owned a car repair garage and I spent most of my school holidays working in my fathers garage. Thus I have rebuilt many, many engines and fixed many, many other problems with cars. I was also lucky enough to do a Jaguar Mk 3.4 cylinder head rebuild when I was about 15 ... had to move away from the car when the customer came to have a look :D. Man I used to love the road tests :D ... if I remember right I drove my first customers car at about 12! Also worked for an Alfa Romeo specialist during uni holidays to pay for the fees, er, drinks :D

Raced a MGB, a very quick little Alfa Romeo Sud (that I restored), and a self built club car that won the championship and would have won the next years, etc. except that I decided to go to university and have a normal life. Was trying to trade my way into a Formula Ford before loosing heart in motor racing. If I had my life again I would start racing in a Formula Vee ... and go from there ...

Currently restoring an Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV ... a bare shell restoration, thus I know a fair bit about the ins and outs of Italian engineering ;).

My father also was service manager (after selling the business) for Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Alfa Romeo (very handy ;)), Renault, Mercedes, etc. at times ... and also raced cars before I was born ...

I was also very, very lucky that my father had a brilliant automotive book collection ... which I read over and over and over with much enthuisasm in my younger years.

Although I don't post often, I specialize in gathering useless facts. If you don't want to hear it, I can figure it out exactly what you don't want to know, and tell you anyways.
Currently receiving/seeking language schooling. After I eventually get the degree I'm after... who knows.
Oh.. and I tinker with the unusual occationally.
I can also scream like a girl when confronted with fear.

You guy's have some useful abilities, I hope no one will mind a pm now and then. :)

Private company valuations (rectal extraction valuation methodology a specialty); expert witness in damages and "forensic" transaction work.

Spent seven years in Sydney and have dual citizenship/passports so know a fair bit about immigration stuff at least as between the US and Oz. I expect a lot of mail on this one....

    Cheers
