Rave lights, fire pit, waaaaaay more jalapenos than I know what to do with, and a lovely Elijah Rye Ol Fasher. Cheers to Lando for his first (of hopefully MANY to come) pole position!! Here's to an exciting and safe race tomorrow at Sochi.

How do you like that one? I’ve always been a fan of the non traditional Macallans.

Starting to think adding the Ron Swanson funko to the whiskey cabinet was a spectacular idea.

A fantastic day, best (highest) score ever on my PT test....though I credit passing 40 and the post-covid relaxed standards more than individual performance. :D

But at the end of the day a 95.5 is a 95.5 and I will ABSOLUTELY take it :p

So a little ER single barrel pick to celebrate. We had salmon and wild rice alongside it for dinner.

Won a bottle of Old Fitz from spring 21 at the TW raffle, and also found a bottle of toasted barrel at my local store. Good day. :)

Feeling fancy today … so I cracked open an 18yp pig.

One of my top five ryes of all time, and at the risk of shattering your monocles it is at the top of my WP pyramid. Other than the Black Prince I find all the other Boss Hog releases from bland, to hopelessly contrived in a desperate hope to be expensively different, to awful. And whereas the regular 15yr is akin to drinking Johnson City methanol, the 18 is just about as peak rye as it gets for my tase.

In general, WP is my FAVORITE Rye all around. I had a bottle of 15 year earlier this year…..wasn’t as good as the 12 year IMO and way more expensive! I’ve kicked around the 18 year…..might have to indulge though it never seems to last long in my bar.

I bought a "10 year" that was a store pick....turned out to be a 17 year and one of the best whiskies I've ever had. Still got a bunch of it too....hmmmmmm....

No 2021 release of GTS. They say it's not ready and are going to keep on aging it.

Kicked off brunch with a Thomas Handy, then on to EHT Rye, and a Weller 12 for dessert. (I also had food for those concerned lol)

Got home, enjoying a smoke wagon OF with the world's most dangerous spy, smoked the glass prior no photo tho.

also if anyone's in or near (or would like to be) the Lexington/Frankfort area over Veterans' Day weekend, I'll be heading that way to hit a few distilleries and see what's what. Trace, Maker's, Angels' Envy, Heaven Hill, and Limestone for sure, maybe others. If you have a favorite or a must-see drop me a note I'll be happy to get it on the list. Should be two days of visits with a day of travel on each end. :)
