    Hadn't bought Oban 14 since they doubled the price from $40 to $80 (probably 20 years ago). Found some on sale for $82, figured with inflation its back to a reasonable value, so I bought a bottle. Not bad, kind of like I remembered it.

    My 2023 Michter's 10-yr Bourbon is nearly gone. So I popped my 2024 to do a little side by side. The 2024 drinks slightly less 'hot' but otherwise tastes right on par. I won't be terribly sad now. ;)

    We met thru a whiskey club so i had a feeling she was bringing me something. Definitely didn't expect something this spectacular.

    Of course both of us being Midwesterners means there's a bit of one-upmanship that has to occur lol. I got a couple ideas...

    I’m hoping to get a taste of Midwinters Night Dram soon.

    The local Total Wine put it on sale yesterday. I found out and immediately placed an online order to pickup in store for this morning. Three friends did the same as me a few minutes later. Well unfortunately Total Wine cancelled my order but at least none of my buddies had their orders cancelled. Still not sure how mine was the one cancelled since I ordered first but such is life.

    One of those friends and I considered going to Utah to buy some but decided that trip was not worth it.

    Thank you! A friend who lives in OH right now wants to head to the CO Springs area bout the same time we do; we have an idea for our own little shop out yonder. We'll see what shakes out. ;)

    Almost forgot to mention, the Walter Reed exchange still had a Blanton's on the shelf from Sunday when I popped in yesterday morning before PT, so...that came home with me at 60 bucks to prevent the inevitable flipper. :p

    Could do a tasting flight now with Takara, Gold, SFTB and ol' workhorse (haha get it cause there's a horse :D). I'll probably just stash it for the new house when friends come over who've never had it. Enjoy the rest on my own ;)
