I will upgrade soon...and will get my first SLR... The question is which camera is better...Canon Rebel Xti or the Nikon D40... Robin and Chris already help me with some question that i have of the D40....all the comments were good....seems like a good camera for me (a starter) But i also heard that the Canon is very good... So any of you amateur/professional photographers can help me in this... Thanks, Jorge
If your looking for something more cheaper price the D40 would be a better camera for you. I got the canon rebel xti about 1 week ago, its a great camera, takes good picture's and looks nice!, i dont have much to say about this camera yet im still learning I took some of my first picture's which are in the random picture's thread if you want to see jorge. It cost 899.99 here, not sure about the price in mexico.
I have the d40 and the xti, they are good camera's but if your looking for more serious picture's you should get the rebel XTi. I use the XTi for Automotive photography and almost everything. The D40 is a good camera and all but doesn't have some of the good option's that the rebel xti has. I rank the Rebel XTi 10/10 when you get to know the camera you can do alot of amazing thing's with it, as for the D40 i give it a 6/10, its a plain SLR camera its pretty boring i guess, but i used the d40 for only 1 month so other's may think its a great camera.
Yes...Forget to mention....Money is a problem... The price´s in Mexico are crazy you can find some for 900 dls and then up and up... I will buy it trough Ebay or Amazon
If you have any electronic stores around you, then go there and try the camera out in person and ask the sales person some question's. thats the way i always buy my camera's, good advice...
I buy a lot of camera equipment from Amazon (and its partners). I'm picking up a 40D next month, probably from Amazon.
