25 - 30 boxes of kleenx in total, after a month a cough developed and after the second month a week long migraine. < That's it. Now hitting the fourth month just a constantly runny nose.

Lots of people are having a hard time shaking the seasons cold/flu.

Ive had it since late november and it never quite goes away and the symptoms move around.

Just wait until these strains mutate into something worse. Don't laugh, it will eventually happen. Lots of sick people this year who cannot shake these "colds". I know several who have been sick for a month. Me? Nada (knock on wood).

So it's just a cold that won't go away. That eases things.

Could be, could be something else. If I had a cold for 3 months, I'd go see a doc to find out what it is. I certainly wouldn't take an answer at f-chat as gospel.

You need a gall bladder/liver detox, an enema and a bloodletting.

If that doesn't work, mix powder of staghorn, gum of arabic with sheep's urine, and apply as a poultice to your face, then get buried up to your neck in the marsh and be left leave overnight to cure.

If still feeling as listless as ever, if not more, time for another bloodletting.

At least, that's what Theodoric of York would do.

It seems as if you are suffering from an adverse reaction to molds and/or dust. Being that it is winter and the heat from the furnace (or whatever) coupled with the damp air makes for a great habitat for mold and other spores to thrive in. I would first try to "Air out" the house and completely sanitize the entire dwelling. While you're at it, check for any mold growth or excessive dust accumulation in and around your house and the cooling/heating ducts. If symptoms persist, I suggest making an appointment with your regular physician. Hope this helps!

    LOL! :D

Could be something as simple as allergies. They can really mess you up. Every summer for me, it's something different. Last year, it knocked me on my arse, and my body felt numb. I had swollen lymph nodes for 3/4 of the summer. When I took allergie medicine they would go down almost entirely. For three years before that, I thought I had lime disease. My joints (shoulders) felt like they had gravel in them, and it eventually spread into my wrists and hands. I was treated for lime disease, and it would fix it, but 6 months later the symptoms would come back. Then one day I had a runny nose, and took tylenol allergy sinus, and it took care of all of my symptoms. Everything went away. I have to keep changing medications, but so far, I've been fine.

    Hope it helps,
    Jim

honestly I find that flying south for a week to Florida can clear all my symptoms of a cold. The air should get you to feeling better - if not see a doctor upon your return.

Also - you may have walking neumonia - you won't shake it until you've gotten rid of the congestion - again - take a week and head south.

If the crap you are hacking up or running out your nose is clear, it's allergies.
If it's not clear, if it's green, it's an infection.

Neil, do you have any upper tooth that is compromised, expecially if it involves the root and the bone? A cracked tooth can cause bone inflamation and it is close enougth, it can affect the sinus cavity-------to the point that you feel like you need track shoes - for your nose.

I had this issue for a few months until I got smart and had it checked out.

    Hope you feel better,

    Hank

And you would be on FChat getting medical advice .. why? Isn't it like going to WebMD to get car advice? If you have been ill for three months .. go to your doctor.

There is a nasty respiratory flu that is going around here, I don't know anyone who has had it for 3 months but it manifests itself as a cold.

If you have a cold, and have lots of mucus, I really think that Mucinex would help. I took it when I felt like I was getting sick, and in some allergy times, and it worked like a charm.

On a serious note, I second the allergy/mold checkup idea. Just don't waste your money on Airborne!

I've been the same way. Felt like hell for at least ~6+ months. Then I developed a pain in my stomach/intestinal region. Had blood work and went to the doctor. Everything checked out, actually was told I was very healthy.

I pinned it to allergies. It's all it could be. Then my mom told me that all of the flu shots were given without one particular strain of the virus and a lot of people were getting "half-sick" and it's probably why I felt bad during the end of the year and start of this one.

I've been off and on. This pollen that's floating through Houston is taking it's toll on me currently. I actually feel the best when I leave the gym. Sweating everything out.

I don't sleep in the same place for more than a few nights in a row and I rarely spend more than a few hours at home each day, so I doubt it's in the house. Come to think of it, I took a job in late November and fell ill only a couple/ few weeks after that.
