I am sure I will. Definitely by the time I do some suspension upgrades and throw some 16" wheels on there, it will be due for some C&C time. These are the winter wheels with snow tires.
"What can you tell me about Alfa 164's?" That sadly the beautiful looking Alfa Romeo 164 Proteo never made it into production. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, since someone else revived this thread...I'll make a correction to the above... The 164 shares a platform with the Saab 9000 ...not the 900. It could have easily been a typo. I used to work in a Saab shop and the owner had a friend that stored, worked on, and very rarely drove three 164s.
164s are nice cruisers and the interiors feel pretty luxurious still. The Busso engine is probably the best-sounding V-6 this side of a Dino engine. If you're looking for something sportier and far more "Alfa," get the earlier rear-drive Milano. I have a Milano Quadrifoglio Verde with the 3.0-liter Busso and it's really a magical car. Far less conventional styling than the 164, but altogether a far, far more engaging car to drive.
I have had a 164L, a 164S, and a 164Q - what do you want to know? But, my real love, in terms of past Alfas in the US, is with the Milano/75 - brilliant cars, not without its quirks, ahem, character.
