Standard 348TS. Looks to be a '91 or later from the 6 fasteners on the rear shock towers. From the condition of the paint and engine bay it looks to need some freshening, and probably a major service. No idea what the market is like there but in the US I'd expect the asking to be in the $35-$40k range, depending on mileage and what services it needs. If it's not in need of a major service it'd be worth more.

    Good buy for $15k.

It's worth much more than that in parts alone...but seeing as it is a complete car, I would buy it and just park it even.

Same as the 360. On top of the steering column and on the data plate. I believe data plate can be in either the right or left front of the door jam (by the hinges) depending on what market it was built for.

Also stamped into the right rear shock tower. Make certain they all match. :)

There is a great bit about pre-purchase-inspections here: My Ferrari 348 (my348_dot_com if that link gets censored). The 348-specific items that I would consider important would be to turn the key to the on position and make certain that the ABS light, both check engine lights, and both slow down lights all come on. Then check to see if they come on during a test drive, if you are able to take one. Also pay attention to the way the transmission shifts once it's warm, and listen for any odd noises coming from the trans.

Service records would be very nice. Check to see when the last major service (timing belt) was done.

Non-348-specific: check the panel gaps and look for any evidence of crash damage. Making a poorly repaired Ferrari right would be very expensive. If possible, get the car on a lift and check the underside for damage, as well as for engine & gearbox leaks. Someone recently posted pics of a car he'd bought that had a steel plate welded from one end of the car to the other, making removing the engine very difficult. That's got to be *very* rare, but it'd be better to find that kind of stuff before you buy the car (although at that price it's tough to go wrong).

If you can, take lots of pics and post them here. The 348 knowledge base here is deep & wide-- you'd be amazed at what these guys can tell you just from pics.

Good luck. Look forward to hearing about the car.
