No disrespect to jets or possibly even intergalactic starships, I'll take this gem any day. Thanks for background/history. Priceless story.
Nice line up for 15. Wow. I really like the 918. What a car. Congrats. I love how you can beat almost any car on the planet, and still pop the top. How does the 918 feel?
It is the best thing on earth. Took me a good few k miles to really gel with it because it was just too accomplished. But when you get it on a big enough road and track it's just the best thing ever. If you interested have loads of good pics of it on my IG page. https://www.instagram.com/woppum/
SOLD: 2005 Carrera GT 1997 Supra TT BOUGHT: 2014 458 Speciale 2016 Cayman GTS (manual) Cayman just arrived... it's a blast... putting snows on it... for wife and I to whiz around in
I do and I don't. I miss the engine sound (V10 just sings). I don't miss that most of the sound was best appreciated outside the car. I miss how planted the car was at any speed. I don't miss the edginess at the extreme when entering a turn. I loved the engine bay and interior. I don't miss the rather mixed metaphor exterior. I miss that you could just jump in and drive it... everything in it's place. I don't miss the seats on long trips. Finally, I don't miss the extreme value appreciation simply because it pushed it too far into the realm of collecting and discouraged real driving (plus the insurance coverage became extreme... for me anyway ) But obviously with the insane rise in value... there's proof a lot of people fancy one!! I still look at it in the garage and I'm still happy I switched. The 458S makes me cackle with delight. Happy New Year.
Which color have you chosen for your 488 GTB? PS: From which part of Germany are you from if I can ask?
