What classic songs have you heard so much that if you were to never hear them again, it wouldn't bother you? Ones I can think of right now; Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Queen - We Will Rock You/We are the Champions Eagles - Hotel California
Pink Floyd - Money Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Van Morrison - Moondance Rolling Stones - Start Me Up Neil
Amen to Hotel California. I hate that song and always have. If that was permenantly purged from public consciousness, there would be no loss at all.
Slow Ride (Foghat) I HATE that song!!!! Old Time R & R (Bob Segar) Overplayed at wedding receptions Tom Sawyer (Rush) Way overplayed, on our local stations anyway Children of the Sun (Billy Thorpe) Crazy Train (Ozzy) The Chicken Dance The Doors (Everything) Purple Haze (Jimmy Hendrix)
Why? They are good songs (edit: except for "who let the dogs out"! lol). If you hear them too much, don't listen to the radio. All the radio does is overplay the same songs over and over again. Since I don't listen to the radio I get a much broader range of songs from hits to less known songs and therefore I enjoy all of them immensely.
-Horse With No Name...don't know who did it, always hated it -Fleetwood Mac...delete all Plenty more old-time crap out there but I hardly ever listen to pop music unless against my will--in a store or my wife puts it on.
I like classic Rock but a lot of the 80's style top 40 music I could really do without. We built this City- Jefferson Starship Bad to the Bone - George Thorogood Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant Anything by them - Wham
I read through this thread and then took my son swimming. Amazingly, when I came in from the pool, more 'must delete' songs are listed. Great Thread. I forgot about some of these songs that I truly despise (although there are a couple listed above that I do like).
Naw, just the 7 songs played on the radio. And now that the White Sox are falling on their faces, can we please dig a hole for "Don't Stop Believin"? That song sucked even before it didn't suck.
Journey was actually my first concert! But they did have a good period--Infinity is a pretty good album, and half of Evolution is good. I saw them in 7th grade along with Eddie Money, Molly Hatchet, Thin Lizzy and Santana.
Everything by Peter Frampton, but especially that live thing that starts with Waaaaaaaaaa, wah waaah wah wah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Maybe it's just my youth, but I think songs like Hotel California and Moondance are awesome...! In fact, both of them are in my playlist right now...
