It looks close to Rosso Fiorano, but I cannot be sure. Maybe Rosso Metallizzato? Rosso Chiaro? (Any chance it could be Prugna?) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That isn't Prugna. Assuming the colour is accurate in the pictures then it must be some sort of custom colour as it is too light for any of the standard Ferrari metallic reds. Jonathan
Exactly what jtremlett said. That is NOT Prugna. That is some sort of custom color, maybe a repaint? I've never seen it before.
Sorry boys... That car IS Prugna. One of 2 know 355s. Here is the ad... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110346143913#ht_2385wt_1272
That is what I said in the above post....lol Would like to confirm that though---Wonder if the dealer will take a pic of the color code tag in the rear bonnet
They're wrong. I know that's the ad but I wanted to maintain their confidentiality. I spoke to the dealer and they don't even know what color it is. Get this: I told them to read me the sticker, and the sticker is not there. They can't find it.
I'm on my mobile device so I cannot do it-- but can someone post a few pics of Prugna cars (which I easily found yesterday using the search) so that we can compare the two? Really, the two aren't even close. Again, no sticker in the engine bonnet so how else can the color be verified?
No but I could. I believe it's on their site. What can we do with it? (Carfax is clean. Ha -- like that ever stopped a cheat.)
Here's a 328 in rosso metallizzato - I saw this one in person and verified (at Marshall Goldman a couple years ago). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a Prugna 308 (my own photo, but not my car). I think it is pretty clearly not the same colour as the 355 in question. FWIW when the same car was previously for sale the colour was listed as Rosso Rubino, which is also clearly not right. Jonathan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice pic. Thank you for that. First pic of a Prugna car in the sun that I've seen. Well, I think we might want to see a few more pics of cars in Rosso Metallizzato. I couldn't find any in the search, but then again my search skills are inferior to that of some folks on here. Have we ruled out Rosso Fiorano?
Here's a pretty neat web site. http://www.ferrari-collection.net/color/ferrari_colors.htm According to that web site (which we cannot be positive is accurate), the 328 posted by Bullfighter is Rosso Metallico, not Rosso Metallizzato. Again, I don't mean to question Bullfighter -- just trying to introduce additional clues to this mystery. I don't even know if "Rosso Metallico" is a real color. Of course, there's also our own thread here, indicating all Ferrari colors. Again, "Rosso Metallico" not listed. Only "Rosso Met." http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48214&highlight=ferrari+colours According to the below web site, the 1955 410 Superamerica is Rosso Metallizzato. Seems like a very good picture. Also looks similar to the Rosso Metallizzato posted at the ferrari-collection web site. <http://www> <dot> <supercars> <dot> <net> /PitLane?viewThread=y&gID=2&fID=0&tID=99117&bottom=0#post5 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tracked down a few more pics of that 328 here. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153994 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, interesting car. The Mary Kay-mobile of classic Ferraris. I'm not certain Marshall Goldman had it right, and I've never seen another one this color, so feel free to correct. There is only one rosso metallic color listed in Bluemel -- and it may well have changed for the 355. However the 355 up top is not prugna.
