I was going with white, but am open to suggestions. I am going to tile it later after the walls are done.

This is my Fcars home. :)

Let Renee decide, she has better taste than you, seriously white sounds good your car is red right, or maybe yellow walls.

I agree 100%. Get away from the white walls.. You got to go with yellow. It will make the car REALLY stand out.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do..

Any off white will look nice. Even a very light gray. Keep it manly, no pastels.
Go with a satin or semigloss finish, never fails you'll get dirty finger prints on it and you want to be able to wipe them right off. Good luck painting.

I'd go with white. A red car would look better in a white garage.

    Check out these pics.
    http://groups.msn.com/GaryReed/griots.msnw

Had a brief chat with Gary last night. Oddly enough, I'd seen his profile pic before we chatted, so when he popped in, I said, "THE GaryReed?"

Justifiably so, the bottom left pic - Boxer is on the cover of Griot's - other pics not only show evidence of that photo shoot, but show reds, yellows and whites to assist in your decision.

That said, I once painted a film director's home interior. No rollers, all hand-brushed. The "white" used was the same shade of white as that of a large black and white photo. It seemed to have just a drop of verde and another of gray in it. After painting was said and done... the walls were rubbed with Carnauba Wax. Stunning.

Bottom line: If you look at the white wall in Gary's photoshoot pics - it seems to have that same characteristic shade.

Gray dresses it up a little.

Wow, this floor looks great, but one tip: remove the stickers from the wall and ad a big ferrari poster!

Would anyone take my suggestion of black walls seriously...?

Black walls or any dark colors make an area look smaller, I'd say white, keep it simple.

The gray looks descent. Not to bright. Remove the small signs on the side wall, add a couple of good size Ferrari posters like the Pirelli F40 & Pirelli 355, then if you want to go with the gas station signs, put up a shell sign & go with a Ferrari sponsor theme. The flag is a good tie in for the color of the car. The floor is perfect. Just what I had in mind for my floor. Only problem for me is, I don't have a Ferrari yet.

But that doesn't change the fact that it would still look b!tchin'... :D

i would go with black walls and black lighting, with secondary tracks of regular soft white lighting, for the day time... Nighttime, in an all black garage, with black lighting would look REALLY cool... The secondary lighting would be usable at any time, so if you really needed strong light, you could just flip it on...

i'm available on a contractual basis to help with design ideas for your garage and other recreational areas of the home. Please PM me for pricing.

Here is one more step Carbon...have a huge prancing horse painted on the wall in a "magic marker" color that will only show up when the black lights are on. Now that would be great!

    Wax,

Nice talking with you on "live chat" too.

When I remodeled my garage at home, I painted the walls and ceiling in WHITE satin paint, light GRAY epoxy concrete floor paint and dark gray rubber cove mouldings and dark gray floor "mats" to park the cars on. Those mats work great to keep the epoxy painted floor clean and dry, especially when driving cars in from the rain. They can easily be dragged outside to be cleaned and hosed off when needed.

I really like the "white" wall paint because it reflects the lighting so well. Much better visibility for working on stuff.

Here's a couple shots of the garage.

Todd, you read my mind. Just got both f-40 and 355 Pirelli posters I got in Monterey back from getting them put on boards. Also bought the F-1 full size cardboard cutout coming at you. Will move the small signs to opposite wall, and have F-1 coming at me where the Flag is. Move the Flag and new posters to side wall. Also got Ferrari dealer poster to put up. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't like stark white, but almost white. I prefer a very very light biege to a grey, it just seems happier. I work on the car in the garage and I like to be able to see, the darker the walls and floor, the brighter the lights need to be. And be sure and use gloss paint, at least on the bottom 1/2 of the wall so you at least have a chance of wiping off spills. JMO

I got those there as well including the Lambo & Saleen posters. About 10-15 of each. Also managed to get a Pirelli Banner & flag strip. When my house gets done I plan on doing up my garage as well.

The garage is great. In looking at his pics the guy has a t-shirt on that I have been looking for. "Still Plays With Cars, Fast Italian Cars". Does anyboby know where I can get one?

    Thanks

GaryReed - where did you get the floor mats? Also, did you paint the floor yourself?
