I need some opinions everyone. I'm getting 3 sets of my 355 Challenge Speedline wheels repainted. Right now I have 2 in white and 1 in red. I don't like the red, but the white is OK although it shows dirt immediately. What color would look best with my car? Car is mostly silver, but I don't know if silver wheels would be too much. Keep them in white? Other colors I have thought about and would hide dirt more would be black or like a mat/carbon fiber black. The other thing I'm interested in exploring is a 2-tone paint, where I could do something like sliver and black.

Here are some recent pics of the car and link to the wheel place and examples of their 2-tone paint. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I vote against silver wheels. I had red, black and an orange car that had the wheels painted the same as the body and while they didn't look bad, it basically turned the car into a blob of colour going down the road. Also cars like yours {cars that people like to look at} should show the contours of the car and the definition of every square inch. That's why I don't like black sports cars, they look like a rectangle moving down the road.

I don't think black wheel would suit your car well, the white looks good and I would try a graphite colour in PS, two toned wheels are tricky, most people are split between love and hate with them.

Where are the photoshoppers out there? You all can give us some visual choices.

I am thinking black with some sort of lip color. I am not one for crazy wheels but on a Challenge car anything goes.

Yea, of the options I say keep them white and just deal with cleaning them. I've never been a fan of black wheels, if you go that rout paint the centers black and keep the rim portion white or silver. If you didn't have the stripes I'd say go blue. Either a nice light blue or a dark royal blue, kind of like the blue wall in your last picture.

Any way about it though, you've got a great looking car. Keep enjoying it! :)

Gold! As on P4s and other contemporary Ferraris.

Regarding black paint - would it affect the brake temperatures?

I think black would nice though but it is a lousy choice for taking panning pictures - it looks like a black blob.

Honestly white or dark grey would be great. :)

I would go with a set in white, a set in gunmetal gray matte finish and a set in 2 tone silver lip and black center. Another option I would look at but would like to see a photoshop of first is green, same as the stripe. That could look very "race".

The two tone could be nice, I'd like to see them on a car.

I now think the white looks almost 'retro', in a cool way. It makes the car look period correct, as if you're back in 1996.

I powdercoated all of mine blackish, one set glossy black, one set is sort of gunmetal, and one set is blingy black with gold flake. You might consider doing something different for each of the three sets. It makes it a little easier to keep track of the tires your managing.

    Black!

Ferrari285 has the stencil jpeg to make more speedline stickers if you need to make them look totally OEM.

I'd paint one set Black with a red stripe, one black with a green stripe and the other probably bronze!

Although im not sure if the bronze works on a these model speedlines.

If you can get me a good side view picture of your car and some of your ideas for the color of the wheels, I can work out some options in Photoshop.

Do you have a picture with the red? Persoanlly, with the stripe, I think the red would look great. But I love crazy colors on race cars. In fact, I was thinking of red on the driver's side and green on the other side - or vice versa - to match the stripe :)

I would go with black to match the wing and rear grill if you go dark.

Have always thought the paint and stripe on your car was one of the best around!

Gunmetal with a polished lip would look good imo. Or keep the white.

    yes, I will need 12.

right now I'm leaning just white again. I like the two-tone though, so maybe a black/white design. I have a couple weeks, y'all aren't helping with an overall favorite. :)

I prefer white. Its the classic look for these wheels. Liberal coating of wax should help with keeping dust off etc.

I think black is the way to go. If your car was red I'd say gold, but otherwise black is a cool racing wheel color.
