What colors were available for 288 GTO ?

    I mean originally available from Ferrari ?

    Are there yellow and black originally besides red ???

    They only came in red. With the exception of a yellow pre production car, GTO's in other colors were repainted.

    Thanks for your input....so are we to say all 272 cars were all in red ?

    Yup, 278 were built including 5 Evoluziones. So 278 minus 5 minus 1 yellow pre production GTO should be 272 cars that came in red from the factory. What I don't understand is why an owner would repaint such a nice machine...

    Thanks for the info...but I think Ferrari was right to have offered it in red in the first place....the 288 GTO really looks good in red !

    Truer words have never been spoken. 288 GTO-Red, F40-Red, F50-Silver, and Enzo in black on red.

    Nice clearing up of info with the amount of cars made...

    272 street GTOs...5 evoluziones, and 1 pre-production car...that explains the 272 # and the 278 # that has floated around...

    Supposedly there's 273 street GTOs ...a special order for Niki Lauda, that I think was talked about on this forum recently...

    And yes, you could have ordered your 288 GTO in any color so long as it was in red...

    I'm a huge fan of yellow cars...Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Vettes, etc....the yellow GTO just doesn't do it for me....RED is the only color for that car!
