Fed up moaning about my engine problems, what colour shall I do my gt, 3 months to decide, originally chiaro red, like Verdi green but worried it is too radical, don't want dark blue, black, white or yellow.

If you like the original color I would weight that significantly if you do not like pick on you like ... (it does not hurt to pick a color you can sell someday))

Do it any original Dino color THAT YOU LOVE! ..... even if it seems radical. One life to live, this ain't a 'read through'.

    Have fun,

    Tom

+1. Dinos look amazing in any period correct color- so if the decision is perplexing stick with the decision that will enhance its value . Original chiaro freshly painted will be awesome

It is important to note that while the theory of painting a car in its original colour will best maintain its value is sound, there is NO practical proof supporting it in todays market. Most of the recent world record price cars were sold in colours different to that they left Maranello. This has all been discussed here at length in the past so if anyone tells you that your car will be worth less in a non original colour, then ask them for proof of that NOT THEORY. That said correct to period colour does make a difference so if your eye is towards future resale value then it would be wise to stick to a colour that would have been available when your car was new.

My car was originally silver and is now giallo and has been for 30 years. If and when I decide to restore or repaint it I will most likely choose one of the original shades of blue.

My view is that my estate is welcome to do with it what they will, up till then it is my car and I will do as I wish. :)

Verdi Germoglio is currently in pole position, Chiaro closely followed behind. Any pictures of unusual factory colours are welcome for consideration! I must also think about colour coordination with my 512TR in rosso corsa ; ). Just seen a Chiaro GTS body shell freshly painted and it looks amazing.

    In checking the Dino Compendium.

The colour described as Verde Gemoglio appears to be slightly different which may be a direct result of the lighting...

Another colour the looks different is Giallo senape.

    Same as this one.

    The 2 colours from the compendium that look utterly amazing are;

    1) Verde Speciale

    And

    2) Porsche Signal Orange

Mine is silver with red and black Daytona seats. It gets rave reviews.
Happens to be the original and I left it the same when it was restored because I liked it.
    Do what makes you happy.....

darker colors mask the beautiful contours.

go with something lighter to show off the curves. silver, verde, light blue, etc
