What did this Mangusta sell for $$$

price was never disclosed anywhere publicly that I know of. Buy it now was $150k.

 

I know that it is going to Europe (actually should be leaving right about now).
At least one person claims to have been offered the car for $60K by "the widow" and turned it down.

I read that too on the PIM message boards...I would have snagged it at that price if the new owner wants to sell

 

I was at least one of the people that was offered this Mangusta in the $60K-$65K range by a local dealer who was assisting an attorney in the disposition of the cars from the estate of the deceased owner. This car had sat unused for many years and could have been an expensive time bomb of unknown issues and costs. I have heard that it is going to an upcoming Florida auction but have not confirmed. I don't know if Copley sold it, or is taking it to the auction.

 

the 'rumor' was that it went to Europe? Now seems odd that it is going to be at a Florida auction? Sounds like it has been flying around in cargo planes or floating at sea the past few weeks

 

This car sold at RM Ft.Lauderdale this weekend for 75900 including premium. Jerry

 

Are you sure that the RM car is the one that came out of Jack Launtz's estate? Jack's Mangusta is listed as a 1969 model year on Copley's website and is orange. RM's Ft. Lauderdale auction results page shows their Mangusta (Lot NR50) as a 1970, and in the small photo it does not look orange (but could be). If it was the same car, the seller didn't make much out of the deal after subtracting out commissions, transport, etc.

 

It appears that the florida car may be another mangusta and not the above mentioned car as the color was white per my photos. Jerry
