As of this coming Tuesday I will be the ripe old age of 21 and aside from going to downtown Austin and taking advantage of all the free drinks I can get I was looking for some other great ideas or stories of what some of you did for your 21st.

I went to The Groove at Universal's CityWalk and it was terrible! It was on a Monday, so there weren't many people. It was nice, though, because two of my friends drove up from Miami and one came from Tampa. I had two of my other friends there, as well.. all of my closest friends. The club was pretty lame, so we went back to my place and drank until about 6:30am. :D

I made out with literally 30 girls and managed to stay disease free. My buddies and I(sans the gf at the time) all went to Vegas to the palms we got drunk by the pool all day, lost our heads playing roulette, and then they were all roaming through the club all night telling random girls it was my birthday and that they should make out with me. It was the most fun night I've ever had, it was a few years ago, but man everything is sitll fresh in my head like it was last week haha

I was the oldest of my friends when I turned 21, so... 22nd birthday on six street was... a gooooood time!

If you are heading out there this weekend, you should head to the show at Red Eyed Fly - Cruiserweight and Say Hello To Angels. (the latter is headed up by Dustin, formerly of the Riddlin Kids) Not sure if it is your cup o' tea, or if you just wanna get a little messed up, but.. it is an option. I'd head out there and buy you a drink but heading out of town this weekend for a high school reunion.

Also, make sure you got a place to stay or at least cab money to get somewhere. Find a designated driver! Have a great time!

I was dragged to dinner with my parents to a restaurant that I could not stand and I couldn't even have a beer because I was going in for knee surgery the next day and could not have any alcohol.

Speaking of "ERASED." My guy friend bought a round of mind erasers on my 21st and never have i ever gone from zero to puke so quickly! My friend and I made a mad dash to the restroom, but managed to keep it down. Whew!

Oh, prior to that, my mom took my best friend and I to a very nice restaurant downtown and gave me a beautiful pair of diamond earrings after I had already gotten the necklace that morning. It was a pretty special birthday, even if the club was lame. I also remember that when we left the nightclub and went to buy alcohol I insisted that the cashier card me. Haha!! :D

Wen to a local dive bar with my Mom, Stepdad, Aunt, Uncle, and two cousins. Strange family tradition that started when my Mom and Aunt took my oldest cousin to the bar for her 21st, and ever since then, we've been 5 times (3 cousins, me, and my brother). One cousin left to turn 21, and the whole family can go this time.

Fun thread. Happy 21st buddy. Hope you remember it :)

My 21st birthday was a complete disaster.

I got a room in the Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Blvd, rented a Hummer Limo, and had a VIP table in the Spider Room of the Avalon Club... all paid for by me and I had a group of about 15 friends of mine, mostly girls. Basically, I spent the whole night stressed out making sure everyone else was having fun and that everything was going right. The club was lame, and I was pissed off that this one girl wouldn't hook up with me. Plus, I was on a serious amount of blow (I've quit that long since) and I just got really paranoid that everyone was just using me.

Then, to make it worse, a couple of buddies of mine in the group were completely hammered and I paid the limo driver an extra $150 to drive them back to their place in Hermosa Beach so they they didn't have to drive drunk.... They basically were hanging out the windows and sunroof being retards and when the driver was trying to ask them where they lived the just kept randomly telling him "left, right, left, right, left, right, etc..." to the point where it was 4:00am and I was asleep in the hotel, and the driver was calling my cell phone every 10 minutes telling me that my time was up and my friends were out of control and that he was just going to leave them on the side of the road. I called my one friend and *****ed him out (I could hear them cussing at the driver in the background, and insulting him racially) but they were so drunk there was no stopping them. Eventually, the driver kicked them out, but my friends wouldn't let him pull away (one standing directly in front of the limo, the other directly behind) and I guess we he finally just charged at the guy in front, he jumped up on the hood and some how smashed the windshield of the Hummer..... So now it's 5:00am and I get yet ANOTHER phone call while I am asleep, this time it's "This is Deputy so and so and you need to resolve this damage with the driver or I have to take your friends to jail"... So basically, I had this pissed off limo driver telling me he was going to charge my credit card $2000 or my friends were going to jail. I said that was ridiculous, and to let me friends go, and come to my hotel first thing in the morning and we would sort it out.

Bright and early at 8:00am the driver called that he was downstairs... and I went to inspect the damage. He got a quote and said it would cost $500 to fix, so I paid him cash, and wrote up a little contract making him sign that all the damages were settled in final so that he couldn't come back after me later. It took me an ENTIRE YEAR those guys to pay me back the $500 (they don't have any money) and I haven't been friends with them since, what complete dipsh*ts... that's the thanks I get for spending thousands of dollars for them to have fun. Plus, I didn't even get laid. What a disaster.

MANY LESSONS LEARNED FROM THAT NIGHT!!!!!!

My 22nd birthday was a nice dinner with my parents and my girlfriend and I had 100x more fun.

Picture of the windshield of the limo when he came back at 8 in the morning... you can kind of tell in this picture where it's smashed.

Wow, that really sucks. I had two friends just like that, but I ended my friendship with them after one of them kicked in the bumper to my moms BMW.

I was lucky, I turned 21 on a Sat which made me legal at midnight Fri night. That was back in Jan 1989 and I still remember riding around with friends counting the time down. The first thing I did was go to a local package store. It was like 12:02 am. I remember the owner looking at my driver's license and immediately looking up at the clock. He let me pick a free minature as a little bday gift which I still have sitting in my bar. I then made my first legal purchase and headed straight to a popular club called Cafe DeVille.

I don't remember much after that...I do remember I didn't really feel good again until about Tuesday.

Shoot, these days most kids start drinking when they're like 14 or 15 years old. I never took to it, just not my thing.

well, my family threw a surprise lunch party for me, inviting only my close friends. then in the night they booked a club, we danced and drank all night long.

i came home at 6 am, drunk as hell, my ear drums screaming, my head pounding. i woke up at 12, to find out there's another party that nite. i was worned out like hell, but it turned out to be one of the best nites of my life ;)
