Felt like starting a thread of this nature due to the extreme heat we are experiencing. Ok i'm sure Nevada and Australia where this is considered *normal* you can do anything in this.

Weather here today was 35+c or 95 F.

    We left 6pm temp was about 32c or 90 F, now about 31c or 88 F.

15 km Mountain bike ride. (Its our tuesday ritual, typically 23km ride).

ahah, I too went for a bike ride! It was 36C+, and a crapload of humidity. Wasn't really keen on riding across town ... but she insisted we go on bike ... so on bike we went. And back.

    I couldn't live in the south ... I can't wait for winter's -25C!!!

Well, on a 100F+ day about 8 days ago, I drove the last 260 miles of my drive from Oregon to San Francisco in my '69 Fiat spider without using my brake pedal. Downshift, downshift, downshift...parking brake. That was kind of insane!

The front right had locked on me for whatever reason and after spending an hour in the blistering sun getting the caliper unstuck and hitting the road again, I figured if I didn't use them again, I wouldn't run the risk of having to work on the car again. Stop and go traffic at the Golden Gate Bridge and by Baker beach was a little sketchy, but I made it.

    101 here today.

Mowed lawn, chainsawed most of a large tree down, put topsoil on parts of my lawn.
Heat doesn't seem to effect me much, unless I am out in it longer than about 3 hours.

tonight was National Night Out so I stood on a black asphalt basketball court among 2 dozen other cops and probably almost 200 civilians - handing out freebies and letting the kids try out the fatal visions goggles. I wish they'd change the date - every year National Night Out is on August 1st and every year it's a freakin' scorcher!!

125 miles in the 348 with the top down and avg temp of 105.

I think I lost 5 pounds. (And I may have to replace the seat.)
