Many cars preceeded my Ferrari. But the very first was a '79 Pontiac Sunbird. My driving experience has much improved!

Started out with a '55 Chevy Fact-X dragster, long before I was old enough for a street license. Switched to MOPARs in the '60s, but when I discovered turns, I switched to Italians. Worked up from Fiat to several Alfas before the Ferrari. In the late '80s (when Alfa was in buy-out turmoil), I switched the "winter beater" from Italian to a Japanese rally homologation machine. (Celica ST165, like the one Carlos Sainz won the '90 WRC in.) (The Celica has since been replaced with an EVO8). When I first bought my Alfa Spider, back in '79, I had a couple of dozen people tell me, "I used to have an Alfa -- Boy I wish I still had that car now". So I still have that Spider. (The Ferrari makes three cars I have to stuff into the garage -- so experience parking big ol' American iron comes in handy.) But I'm kicking myself for letting the GTV-6 go, when I picked up the Celica GT-Four.
