Clancy's Cantina in New Smyrna Beach, FL. It's 'fake' Mexican, but for what it is, it's really good. Plus, where else can you get a plate of enchiladas with a pint of Guinness?
Had Houston Area Realtors orientation today for 3.5 hours, so I had to carb up with some Bahn Mi. Two of them, because 1 is never enough. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's a long slice in there as well. All bahn mi's ive ever had have had half jalapeno slice, half cucumber. Start at the jalapeno, finish with the cucumber. I used to go to a place in town called Don Cafe. Bahn mi's were $2.50 each, buy 5, get the 6th free. Still probably the best I've had, but this place right next to my brokers office is amazing. I'm going back to try the Pho.
Not pic worthy. Cut three wild boar bacon strips in half and weaved a base on a small forman grill, then topped it with the three tiny potatoes grated. Seasoned with tarragon.
Man, Ron, you either have very high standards of photo-worthy, or need a new phone! That sounds fantastic. T
I was really so hungry I couldn't wait to eat it. I will have another in a few days and get one then. Oh, and I topped it with sliced green olives.

Was a bit of a connoisseur on that stuff in grad school. I preferred Beefaroni to the Ravioli, as the former had less of that gross sauce. T
Me too! Or, close enough. Turkey soup. Getting our first spell of cool weather down here...T Image Unavailable, Please Login
BTW, I had El Pollo Loco for lunch yesterday for the first time. For fast food I thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back to try some other stuff.
Ron... Which root veggies? Parsnips? Rutabagas could work, as I think they have less "funk" than turnips. Turnip dishes go good with lotsa garlic! T
A vairation on mashed potatoes.I liked it well enough I wrote down what I used. I dont follow recipes but will write them up after, if it suits me. A very large carrot...must have been grown in Texas, lol. Actually California and was 12” x 2” Large Idaho baker, large sweet potato, several smaller various spud types. Almond milk, sunflower and hemp oils, lemon zest, lemon juice, ACV, black olives, thumb of ginger, mushrooms, slipper elm, maca root powder (from the radish family), some walnuts and pumpkin seeds, salt, a pinch of sugar. I slightly overdid the lemon juice, so the sugar. Oh, and a small splash of orange extract. Having a second bowl now with a lamb chop for dinner.
Poked through the freezer at my shop & found myself out of frozen burritos. Dug deeper & found a vacuum sealed pack I'd dated from May of 2014. Was hopeful, and thought it looked like my enchilada casserole. After heated up? Was a bit distraught that it was my turkey tetrazini. After sampling? YUM! Actually better than when fresh, and rotini noodles were still closer to al dente than mushy. Huzzah!
