Not really feeling like having this or craving anything in particular but it was thawed out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Made myself a Buffalo Chicken Pizza on the grill. Image Unavailable, Please Login Used Ranch Dressing for the base sauce, then pulled smoked chicken tossed in Buffalo Wing sauce; bacon, mozz and cheddar/jack cheese mix. On 600º stone for two and a half minutes and then finished under broiler for another one and a half minutes. Sometimes I add a ranch drizzle to the top before serving if I'm sharing with a guest. Yea, me neither. But when you're hungry and craving eggnog. It basically tastes like pancakes. But when I made these, it was the first time I've made pancakes and felt like my Mimi made them for me. Okay, not that good, but it was reminiscent.
Today the menu had something a little less healthy, stuffed chicken roll with cheese and bacon, accompanied by baby baked potatoes! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have some eggs I gotta eat this week and its too cold to make breakfast (was 5F out this morning). So I made something new for me; a fried egg sandwich. Put a ton of chives into the eggs, fried them easy, and added some cheddar cheese on wholewheat toast (I put the second slice on top after the pic and like a regular sandwich - albeit one with egg yolk running all over). Yummy! Part of a delicious and nutritious lunch today Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Local Mexican place, pretty good. Beef burrito with the usual sides... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yeah, this is the only mexican place I've been to that makes this. Its essentially a slaw with jalapenos in there and some other spices. Its pretty good and different.
Vinegar in there? I've seen that somewhere at a bbq joint here in Texas. Not mayo based but vinegar based slaw. Of course, at 3 AM, I'm a tad fuzzy on exactly which bbq joint! T
I can say I've been in all sorts of mexican and tex-mex restaurants over the years and never have I ever seen this. If it's done right, I do love me slaw though.
It doesn't seem to have much of any liquids in there. I actually wish it was more tangy from vinegar. If I had to bet there is just a drop of oil and vinegar, hardly enough to even influence the taste, really just enough to make the cabbage shiny.
Last of the Q. We did a comparison with the two sauces and mine from a pork butt a while ago. Mine had the most heat and overpowered the subtle flavor of the pork and brisket. The winner is the thin sauce from Rob. Fantastic. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can you tell this was frozen? 15 minutes at 225. 10 minutes at 375. Excellent. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stopped by our local Mexican Bakery "Pan Fresco Olé" and bought a ham Torta. Sort of like a Sub sandwich on a Bolillo. All the ingredients are cold but they (panini) press it hot for you. I like that they add avocado and jalepeños which sets it aside from the usual chain sandwich shops offerings. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Really nice drive today. Backroads were free of traffic and we enjoyed the drive. Stopped by Simmons Homemade Ice Cream. We had strawberry and blueberry. Like stepping back in time.
