And to make it really feel/look like one you would need to bash it with an f40 and the 288. You would also need lots of patience, time and skill. I chopped up mine months ago together with an F40 and a 288, but never had time to continue the project.

If you ever get any pics of it I would like to see. Jouef really did a bad job on that car, but I still would like it in my collection.

You have to be really lucky to find it. Because the brand is pretty old allready. So good luck and tell us the status if you find one!!

The job itself was alright. I have one in my collection, and it's not really that bad. But I have to admit, I saw much better models :D

Keep checking eBay. I bought two this way, about $70 average.

I also have their 1/43, a handmade 1/24 version, and a custom built 1/43 resin.

In fact, I like the car so much I bought the 1/1 molds to convert a 308/328 to an Evo look-alike. Project for 2008.

I had the same idea and took a Hot Wheels F40 as a base but the front and rear parts of the Evoluzione don't fit at all. Especially the rear is much wider than the HW F40 and the shutlines don't match. I think a bit of cutting is needed. What's your approach?

    Best, Peter

I am using the entire Joueff body, but that is pretty much all that is coming from the car, together with the windows. And it needs a lot of massaging. the interior tub and the seats are form Bburago F40. Actually apart from the prototype F40 and a couple of LMs the seats from the F40 are more correct for the Evo. Same could be said for the dash with minimal mods. The stoplights need to come from either the 288 or the F40. The engine and rear end should come from the 288. Wheels could come either from F40 or the 288, but only if the 288 is from HW. The exhaust, oil tank and various details under the hood have to be scratch build. The good news is that you can use the original parts from Joueff as some kind of guide to achieve proper fit.
The wings on the rear have to be scratch build also.
The hardest thing about replicating this model is that every single one of the real cars was different, and unless you have the real thing close by for references it is extremely hard to piece together all the info you need just from photos. This should not be such an issue actually as anything you do this model would an improvement.
One day, before I die, I would finish it and promise that ferrarichat would be the first place where it would be seen.

As of 9/1, there is both a 1/18 and 1/43 Evo on eBay.

Don't know if collectors know this, but Jouef did a special run of factory made yellow 1/43 288 Evos. I partnered with Exoticar at the time and sold roughly 50 of them. As far as I was told we were the only 2 companies back in 1992-93 that sold them. My guess is that there are only a few hundred in existance.

    OH CRAP...nevermind that info

How time is messing with me. Jouef did NOT do a yellow 288, they did a yellow 330.

But now that I think about it a yellow 288 GTO would have been cool
