I talked to a few of my local dealers and now that I have fully "weeded" all of the A-holes out of the bunch I have talked to a guy who said for about 150K he could put me in a GREAT 6.0 and we would have a deal. I know PPI and I know to whatch out for a few Normal CAR things. but what else do I look for when attempting such a big purchase?
    Thanks

FL355....you still interested in making a Run across Aligator ally. I would still love to see the car and would be willing to drive across if you would like me to. Pm me

I bought mine sight unseen from a reputable dealer, but subject to a thorough PPI by a mechanic who specializes in Lambos (not a dealer's shop). Apart from the cosmetic stuff, putting it on a lift and inspecting it visually for damage, apart from an established and documented service history, and the usual mechanical and electrical checklist, a competent Lambo specialist could hopefully give you an indication, by feel (i'm not sure this can really be inspected) as to whether the clutch is worn ( a big expense on these cars brought on by indelicate driving and abuse); the engine turn-ons, and revs can be downloaded from a black box; the shockers on these cars are the biggest flaw, and when they go, you are essentially forced to buy Lambo replacments made by Koni at a considerable hit: 16-18 hundred per shock; the front lift system is another issue, some say don't use it at all, it will only go bad, but if you ever have driveway clearance problems, you will be scraping the underside of the nose and that ain't pretty to replace/repair, either.
Otherwise, the drivetrain on these is apparently bulletproof. There are certain things you'll probably want to do, like install a convex passenger mirror to improve side/rear visibility, which sucks, etc.
The trick, unless you are really competent yourself, is to find a mechanic you can trust, both before and after the purchase. For example, the driver's door gasket on mine had a couple of minor tears, something that looks like a 9 dollar item. I think the gasket retails for upwards of 800 dollars. My mechanic bought some that matched, and fitted fresh portions to the lower section at virtually no cost. The alternative would be to either drive a car with little nits (I drive 'em don't store 'em but i still like 'em as perfect as they can be, for driven cars) or spend to maintain.
The car seems to be built as well, if not better than, many of the Ferraris i've owned and the quality of the paintjob is far better. (I have a 6.0 with upgraded paint from the factory so i don't know if that is typical for 6.0's, but the paintjob is really remarkable.).
Also, the carbon trim is ridiculously expensive to replace on the outside of the car, so that should be considered when you are examining the car.
NOne of this to scare you off. The cars are worth every penny, and then some. It is probably the most exotic car you can buy today for that money, they are a howl to drive fast and are spellbinding to look at. Good luck! I would assume that at that price, the car has some miles, because that seems low, given current market prices for 6.0s.
