What's a typical weekend for you guys/gals? Do you go out on town for dinner on a weekend night with the wife or family?

Let's see....Friday, take mi novia out to dinner or somewhere nice. Saturday sleep in, then go to work at night. Sunday, enjoy san antonio's hot weather, usually hang out with the folks and study for SAT's and getting ready for college...and then take out the trash at night....zzzzzzzz

Well, unless I'm having a weekend like Aaron's here (which, being a corporate lawyer, is all too frequent), I DRIVE, first of all (usually with other Fchatters), then I just wander around New York city, run errands I need to run, catch a movie, dinner, drinks with friends, etc.

Do well on the GMAT? I'm applying to b-schools this October, glad to have that test over. I think overall the SAT was easier (although I took the old out of 1600 one).

Good luck on the MCAT. I remember taking mine although it's been a few years. It's no fun, but is very important. Study hard and nail it!!!

yeah, i took the SAT long before it changed, too. Sucks that there's an essay required on the new one.

i got a 670 on the GMAT which isn't extremely good [i was hoping for a 700+, so i'm a little disappointed], but it's not too bad, either. I'm just going to go through the MBA program where i graduated from this past spring, so they didn't require me to do the essay [they waive the essay portion of the test if you pass the business expository writing class with an A].

Pack up food/drink/clothes and such on Friday afternoon and head for the boat. Head out onto the lake, find a nice beachy spot and anchor off. Kick back and relax, watch the kids play, hang out with all the friends who come by and raft up, see how extravagant and delicious we can cook up meals while onboard, watch a movie in the cockpit after the kids are asleep and end the evenings with a skinny dip. Return home as late on Sunday as possible.

    OR

Load up the track car and head for whatever track is having an event that weekend. Flog the crap out of the P-car maximizing destruction of Hoosiers and brake pads, drink plenty of beers and bench race into the evenings.....

One or the other pretty much every weekend March - October. The rest of the year weekends get sucked up with major car projects either restoring a car, building a new racecar or rebuilding the racecar after the years floggings.

This year I have spent a lot of Saturdays perched in the bleachers watching my sons compete in track meets. Spent a lot of Sundays on the sidelines of the soccer pitch watching 1 son play club soccer.

Backpacking and hiking with the Scouts covers most of the rest of the weekends.

Now last week both boys were at a residence camp. I had almost forgotten all the things a childless couple can do. :D

Pooh, Eore & Piglet were lost in the woods sitting on a blue mound of grass.

Eore took command and demanded they head off "west" looking for home and ended up at once again at the blue mound. Undetered, Eore demanded they head off to the "east" to find home, and they ened up at the blue mound....... headed "south" and "north" and still ended up at the blue mound.

Finally Pooh spoke up and said "let's head out into the woods and try to find the blue mound".... needles to say they found their way home.

Golf's greatest discoveries are often found by not looking for them...more playing and less practicing. Be a player on the course, not the range =)
