What do you do when you're in your Ferrari and some other driver has been following for awhile and you're almost home? Are you ever concerned that the person is a possible car thief? Do you go home or try to lose them?

I had someone follow me home once when I had my NSX. I was surprised. Turned out to be just an interested youth (whose girlfriend was rather attractive I might add), but lets just say you can never be to careful.

Let's expand this thread. What things do other drivers or even pedestrians do while you are in your Ferrari?

For me, it's when people want to talk to me while I'm in stop and go city driving. I'm always pretty stressed in traffic, I actually try to make sure the car behind me is one that looks like it should be insured (in case it reer-ends me) and make sure the driver is not talking on a cell phone. If not, I change lanes - a little weird I know, but I do it anyway. So some guy trying to talk to me while I'm moving is just annoying. If it were ever a woman pulling up next to me wanting to talk then that would be one thing, but it's always some teenage boys - which is unfortunate.

On a kind of funny note, I was surrounded last night by a bunch of ricer-type cars while on a city street. They were all revving their engines and passing me real quick. It was really funny.

That I take home and I try to watch my rearview mirror for long term followers. I was followed home in my 993 and now I have a 355 my worries are greater.

If your really worried about it, or the cars occupants are displaying suspicious behaviour...try stoping in a busy, well lit public area.If the car is still shadowing you, make a "show" of noting their licence plate and using a cell phone/payphone (dont really have to call..just make it look good..)
If this still does not scatter the shadow, drive your car to the nearest local cop shop...I doubt you'll have worries then.
My girlfriend has used this tactic on a few occasions, and if I felt threatened, I wouldnt hesitate to follow suit.

In the U.S., Im sure a few people carry while driving their cars, but I would caution against escalating a potentially dangerous situation by flashing heat.
There are a lot of nuts out there, the nuttier they are..the less they have to lose, it seems. Better safe than sorry.....

Always ride with friends. Smith & Wesson are a couple of good ole' boys to take along to help you look after your stuff.

If someone does pull into the driveway behind you, the dogs will make sure they don't get out of their car unannounced.

2 dogs and a handgun will deter most thieves. They won't be back.

In my old neighborhood in Sacramento I would just drive past my house and keep going out of the neighborhood. Here in Oregon I don't have that kind of luxury. I live on a dead end street. I doubt that they could get the f-car out of the driveway because of all the other vehicles in the way.

However I still consider the potential problems whenever I see someone following me through a couple of turns, whether I'm headed home or someplace else. I do this regardless of what vehicle I'm driving. I've had people want to hassle me no matter what vehicle I'm driving. They don't stay with me for long though. I watched one guy crash trying to follow me.

I am a stereo nut to put it mildly, I get followed every now and then. Often I will pull into a parking lot, wait for the follower to stop and then I slowly swing back around behind them, jotting down their license plate. They see you coming towards them and the look on their face is priceless. This always ends the dilemna for me, so far atleast. Just avoid bad areas of town though, keep in mind they have nothing to lose. If they don't have a license plate, get the f out of there quick.

If you're unable to lose them then you definitely need a better Ferrari! :)

Seriously...predators are out there. Drive until you find a cop and stop him. The guy, if he actually is tailing you, will more than likely flee.

It really sucks to think this is necessary but it is...since you can't just pull a .44 mag on everyone in your rearview mirror.
