http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=980&cat=2 Its on Ferrari ads...looks nice, its got that pesky >100,000 miles thing going against it... I am surprised that the 328 at forza hasn't sold yet...that was reasonably priced too....
I can't imagine anyone paying that price for a car with that kind of miles. As you point out, one can spend 5K more at Froza and get a car with 40K miles, and there are many more like it. This 100K car needs to come down to the low 30's I should think. Even if it's been exceptionally well maintained, with 100K miles there could be a rebuild ride around the corner. Just my two cents; I'm sure others will have a far more valuable opinion to add. Cordially, Scott
I think it is worth upwards of 50K But I have one with 44K miles Seriously I think low 30's is what it will sell for
I would love to know what some of these cars really sell for. I am looking for a semi-project to play with. I have seen several >100,000 mile cars come up, but you never hear what they really sold for. I believe it was about 1 year ago, someone on here had a blue 308 with near 100,000 miles. was asking in the low 30's. then mid 20's. then low 20's. think it sold in the high teens. FORZA just sold that brown/gold carbed 308...I would love to know what that sold for...ask was $25,000. Well...at least my wife is supportive . One of our neighbors (Bob - Hi Bob!), has a nice Dino. My wife has fallen in love with. "Why don't you get one of those?" Oh...because they cost about $150,000+. "OOOhhh. Thats quite a bit. Keep your eyes open, when you see one for $50,000 just buy it..." Thanks honey...I love you...I will. Bob, you want to sell for $50,000? The neat thing is, my wife is perfectly ok with my buying cars. She recommended a lamborghini...since I have never had one. Awe...thanks honey . "Don't spend more than $50,000!" No problem . Only one rule. And this is the toughy. I have to be able to sell the car for at least what I paid for it. She doesn't care whats spent on maintenance. If its not a "deal", I can't have it.
I so rock on this search engine. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137305835&postcount=14
Nice job. Value is in the eye of the beholder... I wish Martin luck selling it... If that car had a motor trans rebuild, then it might be a good buy. If not...
Eh, mine's probably worth somewhere in the high 20s. I don't care, I figured I was pissing the money away when I bought it. There's no reason I can't put another 100,000 miles on it. After a certain point, there's literally NO value lost driving it further.
What "brown and gold" carb car that Forza just sold? Not the 77 GTB listed for $34,500, and certainly NOT sold for 25K?! I remember a silver and red 308 GTS being offered for 25K...
Man, I could swear I saw a very similar (if not the same) 328 sell on ebay, in Florida, former rental if I recall, same color, same rims and very like mileage. I thought the buy it now price was around 32K. I think it sold for less. Very similar description too....absolutely remarkeable condition but high miles. Anyone else remember that car from perhaps 6-8 months ago? Not the same car?
Its not worth buying unless you can rebuild the engine yourself. You can spend $35K for a 60K mile car with a lot of trouble free milage ahead. Its only worth $25-28K.
There is nothing wrong with a 100K car, but the odds are not on the buyers side on this car. Its still a high reving 1980's performance engine and your asking a lot for it to keep pulling strong for the next 30K miles. Everything else also has 100K on it and the same goes for all of those component, they may be getting tired. Its going to cost a lot more to keep this on the road than a 40K car and the additional costs should be reflected in the price paid.
