What plane(s) do you fly? I fly this rental 172 SP several times a week. I think she came with wheel pants (ive seen pics of this particular plane with them on), but I dont know why they arent on any more.

    Out of my mind
It's not uncommon for a rental plane to have it's whel pants taken off because usually the wheel pants take a beating from repeated touch and goes.

    It's a cost thing

I fly a Model 58 Baron, that I bought in 1988. Since then, I've put 2000 hours on it, flown it to Europe from SF, Alaska, Panama City, etc. Great plan, now on its third set of engines, IO 520, which I've just overhauled. 12 new Superior Cylinders, with max overbore, intake flows matched, balanced the engine, and put in the RAM cam.

I've got a complete Garmin panel in the plane, starting with an MX20, 2 430s, a 330 transponder, with the Sandel EFIS.

The plane is used for both business and pleasure, about 80/20%.

I've flown a 172 that belonged to my father...back when we didn't lose our cajones from seeing too many tundra darts.

Art...where did you fly to in AK, and how long ago?

    edit: also flew a 182.

I don't think I've ever seen a Cessna with pants. It must be an Alaska thing.

I am flying 3 airplanes right now. The Citation II, V, and Bravo. The Bravo is by far my favorite. It has glass!
