Looks like an inexpensive alternative of a way to lower a 308/328 and certainly has to be better than 20+year old suspension parts. I would say go for it.

    Helmut,

The price looks to be about the same as Nicks Forza Ferrari.

The mounting heads look the same as the QA-1s, that is to say too narrow, which is a critical problem unless you install proper wide metal sleeves. check the posts for shock bushings or email Verell at unobtanium supply. Do not settle for a few washers as spacers and make sure the mounting bolt diameter is the same size as ferrari or you might shear the bolt.

I would be interested in the spring rates. Most guys are going with about 50 pounds more FRONT spring.

    chris

Those are "Hal" shocks, and they are...not very good.

Of course maybe the seller has some special "negative mass" shocks that he is selling. The stock 308 shock is 5.95 pounds, so to save "24-26" pounds, they would need to weigh less than atomic matter.

Very clever, but I would use that phenomenon to ride a spaceship across the universe rather than just selling crap on ebay.

I think he's referring to the shock/spring weight vs just the shock.

No stuff, i just downloaded Rizzo's photo because it looked so good, (the car not him), ya gotta be clear on these things or people tend to take the wrong drift.

Back on track, see what Nick is selling for a shock/spring. Look at spring rate, whether or not you have to find/make your own adaptors to avoid the snapped ear problem and whether you need to trim the upper a arm for shock clearance.

This always crops up on "serious car upgrades", the old "well, as long as you are in there" syndrome:

    1) What about doing the A arm bushings, How are the ball joints. (When you take out the top pivot bolt on the front a arm/shock mount, be carefull not to pinch the botom ball joint boot.
    2) As long as the a arms are out of the way, installing stainless brake lines is a lot easier.
    3) If the steering rack boots look tired or toasted, this is a real good time to pop 'em loose and replace, ditto the tie rod ends.

    4) We could pack the front wheel bearings and do the pads too, as long as we are in there, and, (if you are hard core- rebuild the calipers and repaint everything or have it powder coated).

    4) Since the A arms are off the back, this is a good time to clean and relube the outter hub carrier bushings and seals.

If you are feeling frisky, you could do the axle boots too - there is no end of fun you could have, as long as you are in there - If you are not a DIY guy, _ sorry, i probably "mesed up" your whole day.

I love working on the car and working on upgrades, i just wish it weren't so damn cold and wet outside - also wish there were another 308 dude in the county.

    best,
    chris

Rizzo, I like Perth....I was there a few years ago for a couple days. Nice weather!

As for that guy's suspension kit, eBay took it down likely because he was charging a surcharge for paypal, which is against eBay rules. Nonetheless, it was a standard set of QA1 shocks/springs that many of us have put into the 308 without issue. Unfortunately, he was charging about $400 more than you can buy them for at Summit, plus the correct 308-specific bushings from Verell.
