I always thought it was Czech, until I read about it.

"Harley gives a wry chuckle, however, when contemplating the vision of an American housewife taking home a crate of the Czech beer in mistaken belief that it is the American product, and thus accidentally converting her husband to Budvar. One suspects that Harley is happy for the dispute and the resulting confusion to run a little longer. As long as Anheuser remains frustrated in its attempts to take a stake in the Czech brewer, the dispute is probably helping Budvar more than hindering it. Perhaps any publicity is good publicity after all."

I guess the answer to your question is that we outsiders don't know much about your country! I visited Budapest in the early 90's - came by train from Vienna and the countryside on that trip was beautiful. I also enjoyed the old buildings in the city (although at that time many of them were in need of maintanence). We did lots of walking in the city based on an excellent guide book we found (Budapest A Critical Guide - Andras Torok). Also the food was great (do you know 'dobos torte' - many years ago I used to buy it from a French patisserie here in Australia but I believe it is originally from Hungary - a wonderful cake layered with hazelnut cream with triangles of toffee on top! Yum). I still have a little wooden paprika spoon that a friend brought me back sometime earlier than my visit... I'm glad to hear your country is doing well - maybe you could post some pics of Ferraris in the countryside?

+1 on hot Hungarian chicks. I was in a hotel in Ibiza owned by a Hungarian who brought over waitresses, "animators" (strippers) and they were diggidy-diggidy... Oh YEAH!!!!
I guess it's all the mixing that went on in Hungary, Magiars, Slavs, Germans, Huns, Avars etc.

My wife was in Hungary a few years ago on business. She returned with many beautiful pictures and stories.

I, on the other hand, have never been out of the US! This will change next year as Kristy (my wife) and I, along with her parents, will be going to France. Having never been out of the US, I am a little nervous about this. Different culture with different rules, hopefully I wont do anything stupid! We will be visiting Normandy, Paris, and Brittany. I am also trying to scam my wife into going somewhere, anywhere, on the TGV!

I would love to visit Hungary at some point, it looks exquisite! I will put it on my list, along with Tuscany, Italy. I just hope that, along with so much western commercialism, you don't absorb too much of the western glorification of smut, debauchery, and criminality!

There are more than 30 serious collectors in the country, not just Ferrari collectors, but classic car collectors ... :)

You can read about the biggest in here, if you want to:

The women in Hungary will rock you world. I dated a Hungarian ballerina for two years and she was the best. I still think about her every day.
