    In what sense?

As far as style goes, I'm absolutely in love with the Alessandro Dell'Acqua SS06 collection. Every single piece.

As far as quality goes, I've seen $300 shirts that are no better in quality than the $60 shirts at Zara...

In general, I like to strike a balance between style and quality. I prefer simple, classic patterns, everlasting colors (blues, beiges), and trim, flattering fits. But I like fabrics that don't feel like paper, and stitches that wont come apart after 5 washes.

If you're asking because you want to start a line, I'd say go (relatively) simple. Go classic. Make pieces that could last a decade, not just a season.

In a word: Levis. The hard core number one American standard. If you look good in Levis everything else is candy. Any questions? Got a white T (Beefy T)? FOTL or Hanes real deal. What else do you need?

As far as quality goes, Polo never lets me down; rarely fades, strong and comfortable material. Tried to be thrifty one day and bought one of those 'George' shirts from Walmart and it tore apart on me.

i'd look at how strong the line is, damp clothing can be really heavy, I'd also want one thats reasonably insect and rodent proof.

All pretty much arbirtary as I've got a nice plumbed in tumble drier

    I'll add that a good t-shirt shouldn't be so thin that it show's a man's nipples.
