What do you think about this camera for on-board video?

    We have actually used these in our race-cars for a few race weekends. The quality of the video was surprisingly good while watching it on the laptop while at the track. The fact that they use SD cards really is an added bonus since virtually all laptops now-a-days have the ability to read SD cards built in. This makes it very easy to immediately pull the video off the camera, watch it whenever, and have a full card ready to go in just a couple of minutes.

    All in all, not a bad camera at all.

    No sound - WTF!...... You've got to get the symphony in the vid IMHO...... :)

    Seriously, I think there are alternatives for the about the same $ that you'll be happier with. Some useful info in the links below:

    The "Aiptek" is a recorder that's getting pretty good reviews, although it won't accept an external mic (unless you're very good with a soldering iron....) - Lots of info on the Trackvision site.

    Chase Cam. By far the best that I have used. Combine it with Sony's small condenser microphone and it is the best that you can get.

    ITS 2008!!!!!!!1 you gotta have the best technology.
